London Broncos - gone!.

Have just read a report on the League Unlimited site that the London Broncos have been placed into Administration and by all accounts they will not take part in the 2014 Tetley's Super League, some posters are very scathing about the London chairman Dave Hughes waiting until the eve of the Double Header at Wembley to make the announcement.

Michael Witt and Michael Robertson would be the players known to most NRL supporters

Sorry about that

They were taken over by the Harlequins and obviously renamed, have a look at the Wikipaedia article.

Pity the heading wasn't "Brisbane Broncos - gone". At least then we would have a variety of teams to watch on a Friday night. The donkeys get a massive leg up from the NRL year after year when it comes to scheduling.

The NRL produce the draw, not Channel 9.

NRL provides the Broncos with the massive favour of having a 7 day break nearly every week. Channel 9 does them a massive favour by supplying free nationwide exposure nearly every Friday night.

The NRL is to blame first and foremost for this inequality in the draw.

LOL…wrong

NRL provides the Broncos with the massive favour of having a 7 day break nearly every week.

Channel Nine

Pleas explain how the NRL do this.
__

_NRL provides the Broncos with the massive favour of having a 7 day break nearly every week._

This may simply be a legal tactic to dodge their bills. If the legal entity which operates the London Broncos goes bankrupt they can sell the Broncos to their brother-in-law wfor $10 and he can start up again without any of the debt.

Either way the Broncos were dead men walking. SL will reintroduce promotion and relegation at the end of 2014 and London, with their 5 registered players, would be odds-on to finish in the bottom 2.

doesn't the NRL do the draw?
\
\
and i think he is saying NRL/CH 9 keep playing the broncs on friday night…every week. giving them 7 days rest

NRL do the Draw (outsourced to some Canadian firm)

Broadcasters (Nine & FOX) do the scheduling…
Theres a difference
\
\
Nine choose Fri night games first each round. One QLD team must feature each Fri due to the broadcast deal, Broncos rate best, Nine choose them predominately.

FTB is wrong

Ink is right..NRL does the draw but the TV Networks schedule when and what days the games are played each weekend..

They did fixed scheduling (similar to AFL I think) last year I think up until about Rd 20…..first time theyve done it

Previously the schedule was only done five weeks ahead...so at the start of the year we only knew the first 5 rounds WHEN teams played. After rd one theyd release round 6\. It varied in this format a bit the last few years

Not sure what theyre doing in this regard for next season
