opening ceremony just over …. and gotta say what the hell was that with lighting the olympic flame.

i know those lighting the flame represented famous british athletes, but in a years time no one will remember who lit the flame, not even the british.

Yeah wasn't the best idea ever

They got off to a great start with mixing the Koreans national anthems up at the soccer game

I thought it was a very clever idea.

Having each country bring in a part of the cauldron and then take it with them as they extinguish it at the games end is a great touch. Beats the hell out of our amaturish effort in 2000.

I like the cauldron too, really great idea.
And it was a good opening ceremony too!
I'm upset with channel 9 though, they didn't show it in 3d and when Malta marched out they showed basketball players sitting down.
