I take heart in the fact when Wests Tigers have made finals they have been contenders each time..yes it sucks big time not to make it at all but in IMO making up numbers ..looking at the Sharpies and Newy so far I don't think it's that big of an achievement..

Agreed. I think if Souffs can concentrate for more than 10 minutes at a time, they can put on points on anyone. If they hit a purple patch in the next two weeks (and it does look like they are warming up), I consider the dark horse of the teams left.

What stands out to me is the winning teams were able to maintain their line speed and energy levels for longer periods. It’s a young mans game under the current rules and up tempo/high energy play and speed are big advantages. It’s a bit like touch footy.

What amuses me is when other coaches give it to there teams at half time E.g. Adam O'Brien today that the media and commentators talk it up and don't say a negative thing...... But When Madge does it the media lose it and say he is working them to hard and lost control of the players... Our time will come and cannot wait as Madge is in the process of making this team great..

I think it shows how we lack consistency. Even if we got the rub of the green and made the right. We may be able to pull off a win, but we aren't a hope in hell of getting to the big dance. It's why we need consistent performers and not the rocks and diamonds poster boys we seem to attract.

Pretty much - don't have blinkers on. But they were always Balmain's hate team (my side of the Wests Tigers) and I am keeping to the tradition until the day I die. They just keep doing things that make me dislike them more, as each year goes by.

I had a look at our most recent GF wins.
In 2005, we were of course 4th.
In 1969, Balmain were 2nd.
In 1952, Wests were 1st.

I like the way our team is building albeit slowly but we must build from within. Do what Gould and co did at Penrith it takes time but we must grow and nurture our juniors our base is huge.

I agree. Our team lineup across the park..I think we could be in real strife next year unfortunately. No experienced hooker, no quality fullback, no star halves, forwards struggled this year (albeit Tamou next year will help a tad). I dunno hah. I have to accept what may come next year and not be upset about it. Hopefully 2022 more moves ?

"No experienced hooker ....." We have a gun hooker in Jacob Liddle. Was Harry Grant experienced in 2020? Yet many would say he had a great year, by any standard.

I agree with the rest of your assessment but not in terms of hooker. Jacob is a terrific hooker and player and will be a strength for us in 2021 (and beyond, I hope).

I do love Liddle. Hope he's fit and healthy.

with Madge saying what he said to Roach about how he needs Benji gone to implement his defensive systems and strategies properly as well as Webster moving on, tells me that we'll be having a massive pre-season based around defence. I have zero concerns about our attack and believe that's up to standard, but if we can drastically improve our defence I don't think the 8 is especially out of reach.
