Loyalty

Players have to show loyalty , give me a break

If you worked for the 16th and worst business in your field and you could improve yourself , your lifestyle and wellbeing everyone should be able to bag you and say no

We don't own players , they are their own people , leave them alone

I really can't relate to this comment. This is a rugby league club where supporters don't go changing clubs to support the current best team. I could understand if we were treating these guys poorly or the business was treating them poorly but that definitely isn't the case.

We have been great for them but all they care about is getting as much money as they can from the club. You'd think they would stay for unders but they want overs. If they get an equal offer elsewhere they will run. I consider that poor character.

Your analogy is also completely false. These guys can have great lives and set themselves up with football for years if they simply save money which shouldn't be hard and don't do something stupid like Simona.

It feels like some want these kids to go just to spite the club over Farah's treatment.

No Taylor's treatment GNR

That's what at least two of the four are angry about

They contributed significantly to this. If I was them I'd be looking at myself and in particular their manager, possibly family and friends. They must have been getting some poor advice.

They didnt contribute to poor nanagement of the salary cap which led to years of inadequate recruitment and hence a squad that has seen us camped in the bottom half of the competition.
Teddy and Woods have managed to reach rep level playing in a struggling side but have stated clearly they want some stability and the opportunity to play finals football - they have clubs that are offering the opportunity to do that.
If you had their best interest at heart and were you in an advisory role how could you not encourage them to consider it? Tough for us Wts fans but I can understand it

I blame the player manager who got in to the players heads about milking it for as long as possible, holding the club to ransom and in the process screwing the fans over with rubbish displays.

Cleary has come in and asked for a commitment straight away, which is fantastic beacuse Moses has already spat the dummy and wants out.

You could say its the player manager, however Teddy for example had a different player manager until last year. He had no issues changing as he wasn't happy. Their is enough to suggest its the players rather than player manager.

They have all been offered long deals and top $$$. Manager has done his job.

Woods is infront of the media answering questions, Teddy is infront of the media as is Moses. Not their manager. They each have a track record as well.

At some point accountability sits with the players rather than their manager. If they wanted to stay they would be saying so, something they aren't saying.

Well said MT if they go i wont be happy but i have seen a much better player leave my club(Artie) and it didnt affect my support. If the players want to go goodbye to them am totally over their attitude.

Hi guys ,
This is the second time I've posted on here ever and I would just like to say that there is a bright side to all this drama.
The so called big 3(Brooks excluded ) have all had one foot out the door for a very long time and to be honest a lot of their reasoning over the years is bullshit.
Moses reminds me of a Stephon Marbury type human (if your into NBA) . Always talking about money ,pissing and moaning alot. Marbury went through a shitload of team's before having to play in China . Mostly attitude related .
Tedesco stayed for Robbie and and I would say feels like he has used his loyalty card already . And woods has talked about playing for manly since the first year in first grade .
What I'm getting at is these are all indicators of poor attitude and in any other business you would be getting a please explain .
There is a lot of talent out there right now , I mean bird for example wants 800 000\. I mean he was almost origin level last year only youth worked against him .
There's hopoate , feldt, foran, Reynolds (origin half) all wAnting less than Moses and the list goes on
I mean WTF are we talking about here . Massive opportunity to build a culture of winning and playing tough footy as well.
Wests and Balmain in the late 90s pre merger were defensively strong . I mean Wayne Pearce as a coach was considered defensive big time . I don't see how going back to a more defensive team style would be a bad thing , for football reasons as well as cultural and traditional .
This is a great time for the tigers it's basically win win .
Potentially in 5 years we could be extremely thankful for this having gone down the way it is. Plus who pays a front tower 1 mil ? It's crazy, and potentially team destroying .

Yep totally over their attitude, but if they resign tomorrow we will be all over them with respect and applause for being such a loyal player much the same as we have done with Brooks now that he has apparently resigned. Not to worried about losing our captain but would like to keep Teddy if he shows us the right attitude LOL

Everyone saying their is no loyalty left in NRL ??? JT resigned with the Cowboys for way under his market value. Here is a guy, saying he believes in where his club is headed, and he wants to be part of it.

Mate if you think Thurston took less money to stay a Cowboy you are niaive. The cowboys have a property developer that uses property as TPAs. Think Scott Prince but much much bigger. Oh Thurston would have signed for much less under the salary cap but he made up for it. He probably owns Magnetic Island.

He still could have got more on the open market, TPA or not. You think the Cowboys are the only ones rorting the system, who is naïve ??

No such thing as loyalty in pro sport, but I would like to think there is things like integrity and honesty and I have not seen much of that lately.

The not so big three are within their rights to move on for what ever reason, but just do what your going to do and stop dragging the club through the gutter media

Exactly.

Whether they stay or leave now Teddy and Woods have lost some respect for me.

The club has been dragged through this for far too long.

These blokes have a huge opinion of themselves.

I would rather have team of nobodies that try their butt off each week.

This team is soul less and that is led by the senior players.

Agree Ed.

Just rip the band aid off. Either sign, or don't. I can forgive Teddy somewhat as he is a standout most weeks, but all in all we deserve better. Take the best deal on offer and nick off if that's the case.

This is not just about loyalty.
Our club payed guys like Moses overs up to now and even this year its obvious he's not fully dedicated.

After listening to JT last night its obvious that there is no problem with the board or so called infighting. Thats all a smokescreen by some to bag the Wests board members and others with differing adjendas.

The real problem is has been with JT and Potter and even towards the end of Sheens time that the players and their management have way to much power.
But thankfully thats coming to an end.
