Lui out for 6 weeks

Wests Tigers Coach Tim Sheens has revealed half-back Robert Lui will miss up to six weeks with an ankle injury.

Lui suffered the ankle injury in last week’s victory over Canberra at Campbelltown Stadium. He is one of 11 players unavailable for selection through injury.

The Wests Tigers team remains unchanged from the side named on Tuesday for Sunday’s match against the Sydney Roosters at the SFS in round 4 of the Telstra Premiership. Sheens added he was hoping prop Bryce Gibbs would return from a knee injury but would know more as the game gets closer.

Sheens added Benji Marshall would remain the team’s first choice goal-kicker with debutant half-back Jacob Miller a back up option.

WESTS Tigers halfback Robert Lui is out for the next six weeks with an ankle ligament injury.

Lui suffered the injury during the weekend’s 34-24 win against the Raiders - and will join Chris Lawrence and Lote Tuqiri on the sidelines for the next several weeks at least.

The ligament damage was originally thought to be minor, but scans revealed it was worse than first thought, Tigers officials said.

Lui, who’s formed a dangerous playmaking combination with Benji Marshall, will be replaced by Jacob Miller.

Miller will make his Tigers debut after switching from the Roosters last year, where he was understudy to Mitchell Pearce.

Coach Tim Sheens and Tigers captain Robbie Farah are confident Miller will handle the step up to first grade.

"He’s a really good kid. He’s a smart halfback. There’s a little bit of cheek in him. He won’t have any problems,” said Farah.

What can you say ?? The only 2 things you can take out of it is the young guys are experiencing NRL and we are finding out if they are up to it and 2/Bryce Gibbs maybe a glimmer of a chance of playing according to Sheens

I wish rob lui a speedy recovery and i hope he will be playing better and better when he comes back.
