Luke Brooks - Mega Thread

Do you think when we hired Pascoe, his strong focus to have us evolve into the Wests Panthers clouded his judgement? He however pushed on and saw Taylor as the big step forward?
It’s so difficult to get a guide on where the club wants to go?
As LH said recently, “we’ve decided to move in a completely different direction.” I’m expecting to hear that more often.

Are you claiming Pascoe hired Taylor?
- He didn't.
Mayer did.

Taylor had one season under Pascoe.

it didnt take him more games. Brooks' season total for kicks dead and kicks out on the full was 2 and 2. In that one game Moses kicked out on the full twice (equalling Brooks' season total) and kicked dead once (one short of Brooks' season total).
For me this point highlight two things. One that people stating Brooks is consistently kicking dead is wrong when he has only done it twice this year (according to Fox stats). Two, that Moses is not the answer when his kicking game is not much better than Brooks. We don't have the team to defend his errors or work up the field well enough to give consistent attacking opportunities.
You’re conveniently forgetting all the good kicks Moses puts in … something Brooks struggles with.

Haha....
Seems you're also conveniently forgetting Brooks good kicks.
It's OK, We're used to it....

Kick is only as good as the chase...

They've both put plenty of good kicks in. Yes, Moses has put in a few more but his team also consistently give him more field position, time and space to work with.
Their kicking games in comparable situations is about even.

That's not true....

Taylor was the only one who turned up with a plan, Interviewed well and actually put any work into his interview / presentation.
Had stats on stats why we're so poor defensively, All the players contracted and where they needed to improve.
The other blokes interviewed like we were lucky to have their interest, and like they had the job sewn up and the interview process was just an informal discussion.
Taylor really blew them away with the work he'd put in....
He was the best of that bunch at the time...

I'm as critical of the board as anyone....
But I won't be critical of them for that, They picked the bloke who had put the work into getting the job and had the most passion for the role at the time
- Can't criticise them for that - No matter how it turned out.
The bloke could of turned up with the ghost of Jack Gibson, he still shouldn't have been hired, he caused trouble at every club he was involved with as a player and coach, he shouldn't have even got an interview.
So yes I blame the board, the worst ever signing in the clubs history, then when appointed coach he went and got us the second worse signing in the clubs history, Matt Ballin, it was a very foreseeable and preventable outcome, but the board screwed the pooch big time

Except when he won the game for us against Souths earlier this year.
Brilliant, once in 9 years, lets sign him for life, fair dinkum, we are talking finals footy here, Brooks has had a stack of chances and even more excuses as to why he keeps failing, lets just move on

Claiming 'once' in however many years
- Only makes any point you try to make less valid....

About as valid as the excuses for him, Benji to dominant, Farah wont give him the ball, Hastings gets moved all over the shop trying to make him work, no other player in the game has had as long or as many chances to be a first grade half as he has had, talk about the definition of insanity

Pretty sure Hastings at 13 was planned all along
