Manaia Cherrington might have something to say about Brooks being moved to hooker in the future. Cherrington was hooker in the Balmain SG Ball side last season. He's in the 20's side this year & has alot of talent.

Agreed, super talent in his own right

I hope Cherrington is as good a prospect as people suggest given that Politoni has moved on to Sharks this year.

I don't know much about Cherrington at all really. Thats great to hear he's another one that could come into 1st grade around the same time as these other kids.

Gee we are all pushing Farah out the door pretty quickly

If he stays at the Tigers I would reckon he has at least 4 years left

The longer Farah stays the better, although he hasn't resigned yet. Same with Marshall. Enables these kids not be rushed. I'd like to think Farah can be rotated at hooker in the back end of his career, grooming and transitioning his replacement into the side.

Not at all. You still need a quality backup and/or sucession plan for any player at Robbies age.

I doubt a highly talented youngster would wait 4 seasons LaT especially when other clubs would offer far more money and a top grade position

Most youngsters of this generation are impatient Nothing wrong with being ambitious , but this day and age 2 seasons at best before you can start a succession plan

He hasn't played NYC yet. And 4 years is just speculation.

Personally I'm not a fan of 4 year deals, even for someone as important as Robbie.

Fine 3 years with a fourth as an option If you think Parra or Penrith won't offer a 5 year deal your kidding yourself

They probably would. Its just my opinion that 4 year deals rarely work out.

I understand what you are saying LaT, but Farah wants a contract that will set him up for his final seasons

He deserves it as well as far as I'm concerned

Benji signed a 5 year deal with 1 year left, effectively a 6 year deal,so what is the difference, sign Farah up ASAP..

Agree, it makes a lot of sense.

I think signing Robbie is very important to the club as an ongoing identity… But Robbie probably only has 2 years left as a Marquee Player, so why offer him a 4 year deal? (Why not pay him overs for a 2 year deal, with an option in his favour for a 3rd? If he is still playing quality football at the end of the 2nd year, then sign him up with an extension to the 4th.)

Regardless, I'm pretty confident Luke will match/pass Miller within 2 years, so why not wait till 2014 and look to Miller as an option as a bench Dummy Half? With another 12 months, Miller will have matured as a defensive player far greater the Brooks?!

Exactly. Further to that, a hell of a lot can happen over the next few years. How long is Potter here for? How will Miller go under a coach that shows a bit of faith in him? What if he rips it up and Brooks is the one that stalls? Rugby League is a dynamic game, nobody can predict what will be happening in a couple of years. Maybe even smaller faster mobile forwards who get quick play the balls may be the direction again

Playing wing at 18 is a little bit different to playing halfback at 18.

I think Bob Fulton starting 1st grade in the halves. How old was he on debut and how old was he when he was made 1st grade captain?
