I think it's always been pretty clear cut that he's an introvert, and I can't believe he's being judged (and shamed on other threads) on this.
IDC how he interviews, as long he comes out of his shell on the field.
It may present problems with how he leads the team around but there are some very good qualities too, with the better ones being having high self-awareness and observation skills.
He can't change who he is and it's only a matter of bringing him out of his comfort zone - think Boyd Cordner. He only needs to be more relentless in chasing his goals.
I agree, I feel the club is slowing assisting him there. I do disagree and wish he would give more on camera that just ‘yeah it’s good’ but as long as he continues to improve his talk on the field than that would be the most ideal.
I tend to think our problem out there is not what he doesn’t do it’s what he doesn’t explain.
He clearly talks, you can hear it live, you can see it. It’s just maybe his calling out the whole play within the set rather than something like ‘ok I want a prop inside who I’m going to dummy x to and I want the centre and the back rower coming back who I’m going to hit either of you two depending on the shape of the defence.’ He might go 3 off Jake on the left and it’s coming back this way for the spread.
Followed by the bomb. Lol ‘Jason Taylor’ style.
Mind you know halfback should have to say that much detail within a game especially not first grade. Everyone should know their place in plays but it was clear that they didn’t.
He does play his best game when he runs I feel because it’s unstructured. It ends up creating an opportunity for the team to finish the play off from without needing to know to be in an any other position than to chase.
Gets his poor kicks out of his game and he’ll do fine, his added long kicks towards touch, cross field bombs and chips into the in goal into his repertoire in the recent year. Just needs to run to the line before he puts a grubber in and he’ll find the space.
