It's clear he has the potential to be the best halfback behind DCE but yes his defence needs to improve vastly, and it may be heavily exposed this week against Cowboys' big men up the middle.

There was that moment in the Manly match where he jolted the ball loose. But I was just as impressed as that being a second effort in defense. The first effort he almost single handedly got Jason King back into the in-goal. It showed great strength and dogged determination. So much of the game is about how you apply yourself and Brooks shows all the signs of being an ultimate professional and just all round top young man.
