At least he won a premiership before he went to Cronulla.

Sorry I forgot - what year was that? I'm getting too old my memory is slowly evaporating.

2003\. He was on the wing watching Scott Sattler clean up his missed tackle on Todd Byrne

Ehh, good luck to him at the Sharks. As it currently stands, the Tigers will have some top backrow talent playing FG within the next 4 years and if we do have any money left, spend it wisely.

there hasn't been an announcement made yet.. i wonder if they are gonna announce it on TFS next thursday

Yes there has http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/nrl/lewis-signs-with-sharks/story-e6frexnr-1226430671689

…Cronulla will hold a press conference at 2pm to confirm their new signing.

it says there... but in this article:

Penrith backrower Luke Lewis has reportedly signed a four-year NRL deal with Cronulla.
>
The highly sought after NSW Origin star turned down offers from Newcastle, the Wests Tigers and Parramatta to join the Sharks under coach Shane Flanagan, according to News Limited reports.
>
Lewis had been granted a release from the final two years of his contract with Penrith earlier this month after saying he needed a fresh start.
>
The request followed a decision by Panthers coach Ivan Cleary to dump Lewis as captain during the State of Origin period.

it comes off as a rumour..
nws though

If this had happened 3 months ago we'd be shattered. Hard to be too upset when we already have 3 backrowers on the way for half the money.

A shame we missed him, but like all that has been said, it's not the end of the word. Congrats to the Sharks, and if we can't win the comp next year, then i hope they do.

This time last week we werent even in the hunt for a backrower….its nothing imo, good news for us I think, he is massive at penrith, been there for years, local junior made good, huge local status, (C) - well until recently....next year he'll be a senior player, thats it. It might take him a while to adjust at the new club, that said I reckon he'll get more chance under Flanno to play HIS game than under Sheens, who would have him at prop in no time.

I guess that Penrith director that told admin on Sat nite at Cambo was telling porkies.....

It will be interesting to see how he now finishes the season for Penrith. Changed my mind now his not coming.
We don't need a player who doesn't like being told what to do by the people paying his wages.
He lost the captaincy so wants out..news flash Lewis Your not a good captain and your team is coming second last.

Like honestly who cares? he is not the best backrower in the world….What did people say about the sharks when they signed tupou a crap load even go look at the forum and they were still crap, one player won't make a difference. We have great backrowers like Adam Blairand we probably have the best two props in the game with Keithy and Woods. Also we have the best wingers coming through from nyc so who really cares about Lewis? i wouldnt be suprised if he pulls out of this deal like he did with souths ...

Good work Ink - some valid points for sure. I can tell you're a married man.
