A leagues club in Sydney's inner west has been targeted by thieves for the third time in a month.

Police are investigated the attempted robbery at the Tigers club at Five Dock about 11:00pm (AEST) yesterday.

Four staff members were leaving the club when two men armed with machetes forced them to open the doors.

The robbers drove off empty handed in a dark four-wheel drive as police approached.

A month ago gunshots were fired in the club.

The venue was also held up last week by three men armed with machetes and a tomahawk.

Inspector Paul Nicholls says police are unsure why the club has been repeatedly targeted.
"We're investigating all three incidents and as to whether there's any links between them, we haven't determined that at this stage," he said.

must be the dumbest thieves in history they would get more collecting aluminium cans from the surrounding streets than trying to hold up a garden shed

3 times in one month on a relatively small club at Five Dock seems a bit more than a co-incidence.

I'd be looking at some of those Magpies diehards from the "one state cup team thread"…

What is the average IQ of persons incarcerated in the NSW Correctional system, this is apprently where a large number of repeat offenders learn their crimminal 'skills'.
Knocking over the Balmain Leagues Club must rate highly amongst our 'Underbelly' friends along with the Newtown Leagues Club & the Barwon/Darling RSL or the East Wyalong Bowling Club :crazy .
