I’ve been playing golf for over 45 years and got lessons with a couple of mates with the same pro-Golfer but even though we got taught the same 2 of us can’t hit the ball as far as our mate.
What I’m getting at is a kicking coach can work on technical points but will rarely make any difference to the length of the kick.

This at least may go part of the way to explaining why someone like Pat Richards who has spent a good deal of time around the club since retiring as a player has not been able to pass on his kicking skills to others, and I'm sure that at some stage he must have been asked to assist in that area.

As you say, a coach may be able to help in some areas but when it comes down to it you either have the raw ability or you don't.

Watching games I sometimes marvel at some players that can make a kick and look as if they have not put all that much effort into it and watch it go 50 or 60 metres.

missing a skills coach, tackling coach, kicking coach.

I actually thought our tackling in the earlier games this season was great. Good line speed, good contact, and a bit of wrestle to turn them around and slow down the play effectively. No idea what happened, but we’ve looked like a completely different team since Api was suspended - maybe he made all the difference.

Looking at the NRL app and the Wests Tigers page - Squad
Lists 33 players
Now subtract those injured / suspended = 9 players
That's 24 left
IMO of those 24 about 11 are not up to NRL ( 1st grade ) standard
That means we can't name a first grade standard 1- 19 at the moment
I think Benji started the year thinking some of the kids who seemed to show great potential in the pre season would come good but alas they are not ready just yet .
We really don't have quality depth and I wonder if any attempts are being made to recruit a few mid season ?
