I’m starting to get the feeling that Madge’s reputation as a hard task master is affecting recruitment. I hope I’m wrong.

@happy_tiger I think Madge is Top 6. Other than Robinson, Bellamy, Bennett, maybe Seibold and Hasler, not sure who you'd rate higher...?

Well technically Flanagan isn't an NRL coach but he is in the Top 6 ,

Bennett ,Bellamy , Robinson , Hasler , Paul Green , Flanagan , Seibold

Starting to think Nathan Brown could be above both

John Morris isn't doing a bad job either...

Guessing that the public phone box near Flanagan's place is getting a flogging lol

John Morris is Superman? After all these years I now know why Sheens signed him!

No I actually meant it is a bit hard to trace phone calls from phone booths / boxes[link text](link url)

Doesn't seem to be an issue for Bellamy.

Madge will need time to sort out the soft underbelly here. The board needs to back him to get the job done.

@jadtiger it's was a gee up. But it shows that no matter who coaches, we have the same problems.

We haven't got the right people behind the scenes. The board is the root of the problem. Lot of white anting each other.

The board has always been a massive part of the problem

How the board is chosen is a big issue ....but stupidly will never change .....and I guess we wonder why results never change

Maybe we as fans are the fools....

But you can't blame the board for the roster - they have nothing to do with that. You can blame them for the nonsense of home grounds and to some extent the coaching merry go round we have been on for the last few years.

Well you can blame the board....would you want to come and play for a club that is run how it is ....or stability like the top clubs

Parra, Manly Gold Coast can all attract players and i don't think they are run any better than us. Even Canterbury which is a total train wreck can attract players.

They've all made the top 8 in the last 8 seasons

So have Tigers! 2011 is 8 completed seasons ago.

Long bow anyway, because Goldie have only finished in the Top 8 once in that same period, when they came 8th in 2016 and got crushed first round by Broncos.

Also, as a player, do you sign contracts with a club based on what has happened in eras gone by, or how the road looks ahead?

Jason Taylor had us going better with worse cattle.
JT>Madge>Ivan.

Tedessco, Moses, farah, Brooks, addo-carr, Woods, Taupau. Yeah, nah. He had good cattle.

Madge all the way

Both...prior indicators can be good future indicators

We are living proof of that

If the WTs offer 600 k and Melbourne/ Roosters / Rabbits / Brisbane/ Cronulla / Saints / Raiders/ Newcastle offer 600 k where will the player end up

As much as it hurts ...we need to align ourselves with the reality / truth

We aren't an attractive option at market value to most players

I'll put this question out there....Does everyone expect Matterson to resign at the WT'S

@happy_tiger I think Madge, and the fact that he doesn't or didn't get the opportunities to absolutely dominate and make the blues squad at another team, should see him repay the faith! Then again did Woods or Tedesco???

No such thing as loyalty nowadays

We're not going to attract the top but what we can do is continue to attract the best junior rep players and retain our own. Dave Warwick has done a fantastic job in the short time he has been hear. A look into the future you have a very competitive team capable of playing an attractive style -

Smith
Bradley
Talau
Marsters
Thompson
Madden
Brooks
Twal
Liddle
Clark
Matterson
Seyfarth
Mikaele

McIntyre
Prop
Robson
Simpkin
Cini
