Manly Sea Eagles tipped to make a $600k play for Woods

SOO props are worth $600k in the new salary cap regime..particularly one that is 22 yo.
Knee issues are a big concern that mitigate against this, but you can build an entire forward pack around Woods tbh

Let Manly have Eric Grothe Junior , I see he is wanting to make a comeback

They need a winger , hear the Wolfman went into hiding after the GF

Farah and Woods are close mates and he always speaks so highly of him as a player. Farah always mentions Woods and Fulton as the backbone of the team. IMO he will have a lot to say if the Tigers were to let him go.

why would farah have any say if Woods chose to leave to manly for more money and more opportunities?

Not really concerned about this at all. I have full confidence Woods will remain in Wests Tigers colours for a few years yet.

Manly will have to pay overs for Woods to leave. It always costs a fortune to lure a quality player that is established at another club.

I just think Farah would kick up a stink to the board if they were to let him go and the last thing the board needs is an unhappy Farah. But as others have said, I don't think he'll leave. Not only does he have a huge affection to the club, Mayer isn't stupid enough to let him go. We'll see his comments in the papers tomorrow.

Grant Mayer ‏@gcmayer 2h
@ti05ga @aaronwoods11 my answer is in the paper tomorrow. He is a local and we take pride in our locals.

but it's woodsies choice. and money mightnt be the defining factor. If he doesnt wanna play for a bottom 8 team, what can Farah do about it? HEY YOU, BOARD. WHY ARENT WE IN THE 8!?!? oh wait….s**t

it should be fine though, no need to fret. he wont be goin anytime soon.

I don't know how many times in the past I've seen Magpies go over to the turds for a few extra dollars. I doubt it is the case this time even though Manly have the form. This is an example of Telegraph BS methinks!

Love Mayer's quote in the Telegraph today. Something along the lines of "The only reason Woods would go to Manly is for a swim". Hahaha!!!

Not sold on Mayer. He talks the talk but lets just see what spin he puts on this.
Bottom line we need to resign our best local juniors. Both Balmain and Wests.
Then and only then can we hope to win a premiership.

we've already done exactly that. Every local junior except maybe manaia has been resigned. Woods is coming under threat, but we haven't seen what hes gonna do about that

so he has done more than 'talk the talk.'
