Marina Go resigns Barry O'Farrell appointed

People like Harry and Gary are pretty used to every one doing as they say, I don't think they are the right types for a harmonious board. For example, they say the Meriton CFO role is the best temp role out there. They don't last long
I know this will sound very new age and non-NRL Board like, but humility, compassion, collaborativeness, etc. should be high on the list of qualities needed by any potential new board members

That is an interesting one in all of this Happy. Do you think this in any way suggests Pascoe may not be in the Board's plans as CEO and we may not see him back?

That may be the case when it comes to running the companies that they built and own. Being a boardmember of a footy club that doesn't affect their back pocket is a different thing.
Im sure the likes of Politis, Bouris, Packer and Gyngill are of similar characteristics. We need the big end of town not old rockers, weathermen and painters.

Absolutely agree with you. I vividly remember the meeting at Balmain Leagues Club where they sold the premises. Many of us walked out in disgust at the amateur performance of most of the Directors. But of course when you try to do suggest anything constructive, they remind you that "you haven't laced up a footy boot and wouldn't know". Well guess what, many of us do know how to run successful businesses. Lets face it ,its a closed shop, never to be opened.

With what is transpiring ATM I really feel the club is heading for extinction and i would not be at all surprised if it is not already on the agenda. When you back stab your chairperson and keep her out of the loop something is going on , especially when you are dealing directly with the governing body behind there back
I just get the feeling that the old days are around the corner , the club needs expertise in management , and corporate awareness but instead have a group of men that bully a female and are more interested in pleasing there masters the NRL . I will make a prediction that Pascoe will not return to be his job !

This sort of puts the lie to Greensberg's stance with women in sport and respect for women doesnt it? He, (yes he, no-one else) undermined the WT Chair by going around their back to pliant WT directors rather than deal directly with her.

Me thinks the ARLC should have an integrity unit investigation into that and stand him down.

Lets face facts

Simon Cook didn’t quit his role at Wests Ashfield for the sake of it

Simon Cook remains as CEO of Wests Ashfield and has taken on the caretaker CEO role at WT until Pascoe is back. The only thing he has quit is the board of WT.

Yeah, they would have some big ego's. But successful people know when to put the ego in their back pocket for the sake of a successful outcome. You don't hear about the Roosters having any in-fighting or backstabbing.

It's true that Wests Ashfield Directors have the right to staff it with who they want. But they are elected people to govern on behalf of their members. We need Wests Ashfield members keeping a very close eye on them and effecting change if called for.

For me, that kind of weasel-like behavior is a removable offence. You can't always get business decisions right, but putting the club first is a fundamental rule that should be incredibly easy to understand and follow. If it hasn't been, then it says volumes about the strength of the characters on our board.

I see the Weststigers are holding a female high tea shortly ..I would be expecting the board members to be attending and one might be able to give a speech on how woman should be respected and treated !

My bad must have read that wrong

But it is fair to say he has a lot of blood on his hands , it is well known he was the member from Wests dealing with the NRL behind Go's back

Whoever went behind the chair's back should be publicly named and shamed as the unprofessional mysogonists they are. They need to be removed from the board asap. Poison must go.

They both should be voted out of Wests Ashfield. He's only in a position of power to represent the members that put him there. Not himself.
