Marquee player. Who should it be?

All this talk of buying, or having bought a Marquee player for next year, got me to thinking who should it be? or, who in fact is this person?.

I could not think of any player off contract that would assist us as a team. Both on and off the field.

Maybe it is someone we do not know much about who is playing in England. Maybe someone from Union.

Any thoughts on who this person might be?

What position should we be looking to fill?

Potter did elude to woods being a marquee signing for next year.

Whether it's our only? Who knows?

I think it was Mayer who announced that Woods is the marquee signing for 2015\. Have we really run out of money for any new players?

Just heard Peter Tunks on Talkin Sport saying Bulldogs should target Tedesco as he is off contract next year. If this is the case Tigers should make him top priority signing.

Maybe Anasta for another year, seems to be the trend now to sign or re-sign marquee players from within our own team

Yes i heard Tunks say the same thing about Teddy, He also said the Tigers should sign him up ASAP.

Tigers must match any offer made for Tedesco and Nofoaluama, they are great players and I would hate to lose any of them!

Woods, by any stretch of the imagination, is not a marquee player.

Inglis, Cronk, Slater would be examples of marquee players.

Agree on Tedesco but not on Nofo.

I think Nofo's a handy footballer, who could end up a good footballer but I still have questions over his defence, speed and height especially.

Don't get me wrong, I think he should be kept and that would be my preference but not at any cost.

Teddy on the other hand - blank cheque - Just get him signed.

Tedesco, Sironen and Sue are the definitie re-signs for mine. After that it depends on how the first half of this year goes.

As for outside the positions I see where we might need someone is backrow (esp given only Blair and Fulton are signed for next year currently) and five eight. However I am willing to give Moses and Austin a chance in 2015 at this stage. This means we need a backrower and for mine it is Tohu Harris - Last years rookie of the year, hard working (he does a lot more work at Melb then Blair ever did), is 195 cm and 112kg so is huge and is strong in attack and defence. We get him and then the next year we dump Blair and we have a hug improvement. Melbourne have spent a heap on thier spine and have a few young blokes off contract.

I know we struggled with Blair from the storm but that doesen't mean we shouldn't look for the best bloke out thier.

My only other suggestion is Tom Leahroyd Lars - he was a world beater a few years ago and while going off the boil a bit the change of club could be great for him

Boonboon I like your thoughts, except for Lars, slowest ball plays I've ever seen. New rules won't suit him at all.
