Id be shocked if Sheens did this, but if he is seriously considering it, why not do it now?

Maybe Benji has had a word with him and wants his mate Moltz to get a chance in the hlaves and is willing to try fullback to accomodate it, **or maybe Sheens has such a high opinion of Sironen that he's looking at bringing him in next year.**

Oh, to just have 5 minutes inside the great Tim Sheens' head…..........but i think if i got that id fail to recover.

u can make valid points and ruin it with rubbish like this before continuing your vendetta against the coach. stop being such a negative nancy old fella.

Negative? Vandetta? Have u been drinking? Try and relax and not take things too seriously

MTD u highlighted my comment about Sheens thinking about bringing Sironen in next year as rubbish, why is this rubbish? From all reports he does have a high opinion of him and he see's him as a 5/8.

There is no chance that this could possibly be an option. Benji is not good enough under the high ball or in defence (Moltzen is even better in these aspects). Danny Weidler is probably just spreading a "daily telegraph" like rumour.

I guess you're not aware how highly the club rate young Sirro. He's a natural ball player who likes to play direct and with his size and skill it's hard not to see him in FG in the next 12 months to 18 months, and if holds his pace it may well be at 6.

Agreed, Benji's defence would have to improve a lot. Danny who????

Funny that there are a few posts about it being a half decent idea and then Weidler reckons it's Sheens toying with the idea. Where would he get intel like that? Nobody in the whole comp would leak information to tomato face. Weidler get off our forum.

Hate this idea. Benji is doing great where he is, and is holding his own in defense.

If we don't want to sign a fullback, give Mullaney a go and see how he handles it.

Bollocks!

Nuff said. Danny Wiedler couldn't find his arse in the dark with both hands let alone a credible story.

I think Marshall would go well at fullback.
He seems pretty confident under the high ball and defending from fullback could use his speed to position himself well in defence.
Although he has missed a few tackles in the middle of the park he will do anything to stop a try - and has already done so close to the line this year.
The other thing is he could choose whenever he wanted to come into the attack rather than feel like he's got to do something every play because he's got the ball in hand.
On the flip side of the coin he obviously WANTS the ball in his hands all the time - even if nothing's on.
If he wants to play there he will tell Sheens and he will no doubt be accommodated.

The idea has merit - simply because Benji wouldn't have to be so controlling. I think he can detriment some of the other playmakers in our side at times when he tries to over play his hand. By playing fullback I don't think he necessarily has to touch the ball much less than he does now - he can just take a back seat in the structuring and kicking.

And those saying Benji should not be exposed in defence - he will be making half as many tackles if he played fullback. I think he has the footy smarts to learn fullback defensive positioning quite quickly.

Weeeeedler is only above those idiots "Bec and Buz" from the Telecrap on the foodchain. He probably read that Benji was voted the number 1 player in the game last year and mistook that for him being our new fullback.

to me going from 5/8 to fb seems like a backward step. good fbs (eg lockyer, boyd, hayne) r supposed to be made into 5/8s not the other way round. if benji was to move positions i wouldve thought itd be to halfback
