Marty Taupau Wants TIgers Return

Boyd would be a great addition to the pack and would really help us become a top 8 side. We need some forward upgrades for sure - can’t win much without quality pigs

A front row pack of packer, matts, taupau and twal would have to be close to the best in the league.

Would be better with Boyd in the front row and Taupau at lock

I doubt the Taupau talk will even happen.

Same, I have no confidence in this rumour or talk of Taupau whatsoever.

Just dont see it ever happening

I think some people must live in fantasy world when they start putting values on players heads. Half a million a year doesn't buy a rep player these days. Marty's value would be in excess of 750 a year. His stats of late are better than Tamalomo (excuse the spelling) and he is on a mil a season.

Anyway its all hypothetical, we are neville no chance

Im with you on this SC. Why anyone would think you could get Marty on the cheap doesnt make any sense.

Because you don't base someone's value on 2 games of football. He has done buggerall at Manly for the most part. You don't pay that kind of money to a player who hasn't proven he's a consistent performer.

He played 21 games last year for an average of 163m in attack and 23 tackles. The year before he did 138m and 27 tackles in 20 games. That's 41 games. Seems pretty consistent to me.

That's surprising to me. Every time I've watched him play for Manly he's had very little impact and I remember thinking meh it wasn't such a bad thing we let him go.

Don't get me wrong I was gutted when he left I just don't think he found the same form at Manly.

You must watch different games to me, every Manly game I watch Tapau is in the top 3 players, and for some to say he would be on our bench, bloody hell, we have Rochow in our run on team. :crazy

We hold grudges against players that leave and greatly over rate our own. That is the way of the Tiger I suppose. Taupau is a weapon we thought he couldn’t play big minutes at this level and were wrong. Previous coaches were poor at retention. Addo Carr, Koro, Austin, Nathan Brown and others wouldn’t look bad in a Tigers Jesrsey.

The game changer could be Taumalolo. We beat the Cowboys, they don't win another game this season, and he'll want out 😛ray:

Those players you listed there that we have not retained in the last few years would have us in the top 4 now and a big show of going all the way
