The smart play would be to wait for Taupau to go to the Roosters and sign Tukiahou on half the money but the Rorters will probably sign Hess, SBW, Taupau, Foloau and release Aubusson to create the cap room.

Because you don't base someone's value on 2 games of football. He has done buggerall at Manly for the most part. You don't pay that kind of money to a player who hasn't proven he's a consistent performer.

He played 21 games last year for an average of 163m in attack and 23 tackles. The year before he did 138m and 27 tackles in 20 games. That's 41 games. Seems pretty consistent to me.

There are those who would point out that Aaron Woods has similar figures "and there's more to it than just stats".

I would take Marty back and let the club figure out the asking price.

Our forward stats last week were a pretty accurate account of our performance and it seems most agreed on that.

Google news carrying a story on the possibility of Manly having to release high priced players to ease salary cap pressures Marty Taupau was mentioned possibly released before contract expires .It sounds a familiar story to the problems Wests Tigers went through when will clubs wake up that you can't over commit (unless your the Rorters)and hope to stay viable in the competition.

Agreed. Also we need to berate the crap out of the Roarters when they play here.

The NRL need to feel HEAT for letting the Roarters get away with their cap cheating.

Sea Eagles do not need to release Kelly for 2019 he is off contract this year I believe. It was in the paper quoted as at this stage his unsigned but we are hoping to get our salary cap sorted to sort that out.
