His disastrous semi final against the warriors was sheens fault for picking him when he clearly wasn't ready. Then Gibbs got injured early and he had to play way more minutes then he was ever capable of. Meanwhile Andrew fiftia, junior moors and BMM were playing reserve grade/nyc.

I am quite happy to see him move on. On the other hand, letting Fifita go has proved to be one of the worst decisions ever by ANY NRL club!

Everyone keeps saying it's the worst decision. But AT THE TIME he was a liability. He had the wrong attitude and had a chip.

Regardless if people say it was mis management from coach or what ever. But at the time Tim Sheens was coach for years to come. When we let him go most said Gibbs was the worst mistake. But where is he now. Club knew he was a wreck.

At the time tigers prob made the right decision.

Gibbs was busted and it was a smart move from the club to move him on, as for Fifta, chip or no chip it was obvious to most people this guy could be anything. He was going pretty well at NRL level and was unfit and over weight, so it was obvious to blind Freddie he was going to be a good one. I do not know any of the facts, but I dont know of to many coaches who would have let him go without putting heaps of time and effort into trying to find the key to getting him ticking. Lets face it the Sharks had no problems from day one.I still say it was all about cap pressure and the signing of Blair.

Is this worse than the Bulldogs keeping Sherwin instead of Thurston?

There was a bit more to that story than that.

Yes they did. Fifita even spoke to the media about it this year.

what bluff?

give me gibbs and fifita or else no deal.

if we knew he was good, which wasn't too hard to figure out, we shoulda said no thanks. gibbs or else we'll find another buyer. and signing up gibbs for a 4 year deal then telling him to rack off wasn't exactly a great idea either.

Does anybody know what happened to Matt Groat's brother? Pretty sure we had a minutes silence for him before one of our games this season but I didn't hear what the commentators were saying on the tv.
