Surely should miss out next week.. Its pretty much the same as Gibbs a few years ago were he missed a few weeks..

Worried me that the commentators said later it wasn't as bad as they intially thought.

It was bad enough even without knowing the guy's record.

And why is it always early in a game he grabs his shoulder and acts like he can't play on but then always seems to play the rest of the game without a drama

I really like Steve matai! He's a looker, he's talented and ..well your all gonna hate this as much as I want manly to lose I want matai to play next wk. At least that way when they get beaten they'll have no valid excuses.

Any charge will sideline him with his record but we know what will happen. Charged, fight it, get off. We may as well not have a judiciary in the finals series, the charges never stick (except when it's blatantly obvious they have to go-Cameron Smith 2008).

let them have all the excuses and let them cry as much as they want. As long as they lose i don't care

I find that amazing. The guy has a long track record and clearly came in knee first. Well I hope this is the last we hear from Manly about how everyone is against them. I know it won't but they should be without B Stewart and Matai for the GF. What a joke…

Honestly, the NRL is corrupt. Fulton and his mates have so much influence it almost makes me want to quit watching the game.

Gibbs missed a major semi final for us….....yet Matai, with a LONG rap sheet gets let off.

It's a farce.

But everyone is against them Yoss
Everyone bar Gallop and the cronies
Bring on the IC asap

Honestly nothing in it, but with his record it won't look good.
Shame he has to miss out, if that is the case because he deserves to be there imo.

When did Gibbs miss a semi? His knees charge was in 2009, when we missed the finals.

I've just read Greg McCallum's reasons for not suspending Matai and I must say that I've never read a greater load of Bollocks in my life. He more or less says that it was OK because Matai didn't make contact with his foot, and that it wasn't a real knee-drop, just a glancing blow! All I can say is that he must have been watching a different TV replay to the one that I saw. Perhaps they should have asked Yow Yeh, maybe checked out some bruises perhaps. Matai has terrible form, he's a menace and sooner or later he's going to seriously injure someone and it will be on the League's head. I'm also disgusted with all the Stooge Media Commentators who have "tut tutted' a little but haven't called for any penalty. Weak as the proverbial! I'm strongly against any kind of foul play in sport and my only consolation is that " those who live by the sword, die by the sword" in Rugby League and sooner or later Matai's going to get his - sooner rather than later, I hope. As for the Grand Final, well, after the Judiciary's decision no wonder most people hate Manly. I'm practising the Haka, and am hoping to see Manu Vatuvei run over the top of Brett Stewart at least twice. Go the Warriors!

Ridiculous. I guess it's only wrong when Gibbs does it.

And even when Gibbs did it, Burt was fine. Matai looked like he could have broke a few ribs.

I hope that Manu does exactly what Lote did in 2010 to Stuart in round 1 when Stuart ends up with a season ending injury
Boohooohoo Brett

I think the lesson out of all this is if you plan to drop your knees into someone, don't slide in, just drop straight down with your knees into their ribs.
