Mateship leads to more than points

Whether it was basketball or indoor volleyball, the competitive nature of the Wests Tigers players was evident at The Kings School in North Parramatta this morning.

Prior to the team’s weights session, the NRL squad enjoyed a games morning, ranging from basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer and table tennis. Players were split into four groups, taking each other on in individual and team activities.

What was clear to see was the mateship throughout a squad comprising of NRL, NSW Cup and NYC players. It didn’t matter who you were or what you have or haven’t achieved yet in the game. It was about supporting your team-mate. The bond under new coach Mick Potter is already very tight.

Men being men, there was the usual sledging. Some players stood out in different sports, others just did their best. There was plenty of laughter and more importantly, no injuries.

There was a prize in the end - small boxes of nice chocolates for the winning team. Aware of their dietary guidelines, it is fair to say many of those boxes may well be used as treats for their families over Christmas.

A handful may have got the choccies but on what was shown this morning, the friendships, the passion among the players, and their commitment to succeed under Potter will play its part when the serious business kicks off in March.

Look out for our highlights video soon on WTV.

Footnote: For those who want to know, the winning team featured Braith Anasta, Lote Tuqiri, Tim Simona, Curtis Sironen, Matt Groat, Kyle Lovett, James Gavet, Ava Seumanufagai, Keith Galloway and Mitchell Moses.

Good to see some balance with the rigorous (and dreaded) offseason training pre-Christmas.

Potter's wise in building relationships and camaraderie amongst the 3 strands as well (NRL, NSW Cup and NYC).

where is the original thread TR4L made? and where did my post go?

The original post did not credit the author of the article, and as such, it was removed. There is a sticky thread in relation to posting news articles and the original author must always be credited - for ethical and legal reasons, or else the post is removed.

Why not just edit it with the author and source rather than taking other people's credit? To be honest willow you've done it A LOT, just something to think about

but, why was my post deleted?
has happened to me couple of times before as well
two posts in the willie mason thread were deleted, without any reason earlier this year. even if there was a reason, i wasn't notified.
i know you guys do a lot, but just notify me if my post is being deleted so that i can make corrections if i used any foul language in it.

the willie mason one… i wrote around 3 paras in one post.. it was so frustrating that one.

I haven't taken anyone's credit, I gave the author credit, which tigersrule4life failed to do. End of story. It's not my fault if people fail to read the sticky about posting media articles here.

The footage on the official website is cool. I wish it was longer.

Well done Tigers. Training should be tough and at times fun.

Would've love to have been a fly on the wall ay looks like a fun day. Reckon any of the players can dunk?
