This is rad thread.
Mbye is hopeless.
Fonua is hopeless.
Marsters is hopeless.
Jennings is hopeless.
Both 5/8ths are injured, so basically our entire backline sucks except Brooks (every second week) and Thompson-but-I-wish-he-was-a-bit-bigger.
I don't know if anyone noticed but our line speed against Roosters SUCKED. Our ruck management SUCKED. Our kick attack SUCKED.
Roosters must have dropped 15 accurate bombs right in the teeth of their own chasers and yes Mbye dropped some bad ones and no he should not be forgiven for that. Dropping footballs from a barrage of good kicks can be fixed - either by having confidence in catching or just stopping the bloody kicks in the first place. But I'm not defending Mbye there, those were key errors from him.
But show me anyone against the Roosters who gave them any trouble. Their defensive line was like a sea of tacklers, I think the only runners who legit gave them any trouble was Liddle quite a few times, Matterson to score, Mikaele/Aloiai once or twice and actually Brooksie when there was nothing else.
I don't know what Mbye is supposed to do when we shift left on tackle 4, after making no yardage, and his pass options are Jennings outside and maybe Garner inside. Those are rubbish options, it couldn't be further apart from Tedesco eyeing up Latrell or Keary or Cordner on the Roosters left.
Frankly I think Jennings needs to go first, he offers nothing at all. I'm an advocate for giving a bloke a fair dinkum go but Jennings has had his chance. The fact we got better last week when he went off concussed says everything. Momiroviski is an obvious choice to replace, because although Jennings can defend, he has shown nothing in attack or hitups.
Marsters was schooled by Latrell, but that's a weekly thing for centres.
So no, Mbye is not doing well, mostly because of his hands. In attack actually he popped up a lot tonight and went as close as anyone to scoring in the last 30 mins.
But Roosters comfortably handled us in all departments and it showed on the board and in the mistakes of our team.
