McQueen

Oh well another one bites the dust swaggy…

Rabbitohs Chris McQueen has agreed to terms with the Panthers for next two years, The Rabbitohs allegedly paying $150,000 of Mc Queens contract for the first year.

The panthers are adding some good depth for 2016\. Might be a surprise packet for 2016.

Looks like a straight replacement for Lewis Brown, Panthers are too good when it comes to recruitment and retention.

Lucky he's a Queenslander.
Is he going to get his Penrith player number tattooed on his other neck?

How about Merrin, all these other teams have an endless cap.

Now with Dylan Walker being released and the latest breaking news of the Nrl blocking the Burgess deal because of the Rabbitohs salary cap being over even with Walker leaving.

We should take a good look at Chris McQueen.

Phil Gould last night ended negotiations with Chris McQueen to Penrith confirmed on his twitter account, the Rabbits are very desperate to sell McQueen so they can fit Burgess in the salary cap.

Surely, surely McQueen would come cheap and Rabbits would fund some of his deal, money shouldn't be a problem in this situation.

Tigers please sign him

2016 forward pack would look great we should move Sue to the front row with Woods and our backrow should look like this:

11\. McQueen
12\. Lawerence
13\. Sironen

Is he off contract? Sounds like Souths or him want too much coin considering the breakdown in negotiations with Penrith. If thats the case, not sure we'd have the money.
But a proven back rower in his class would be great for our team.

His got another year left but Rabbits are willing to pay off a majority of his contract for that year now, with the Nrl blocking the Burgess deal.

Jeez these threads are pointless. Name a player. Discuss whether he'd be good for the Tigers. Ignore the fact that the Tigers have no money: no cap room, no actual money, no access to TPAs to top up contracts, nothing.

Please. We aren't signing anyone. Forget these pipe dreams and move on.

I'm not sure you people understand how the cap works. Yes Souths might be desperate to shop him around, but in order to free cap space for Burgess they need another club to pay almost the entirety of McQueen's new contract! Anything they pay him still gets included under the cap!

He wouldn't be cheap. Far from it!

We're not going to spend 4-500k on him so forget. Probably the same thing with Penrith, if he was cheap clubs would snap him up.

Walker on the other hand, Manly were seemingly quite happy to pay his full contract value - so Souths released him.

Again though , if you can find a TPA for a player that can make all the difference

Not really Happy, if he's contracted for say 550k his contract would still need to be the equivalent of $550k for next season. Regardless who pays it. I doubt he'd simply dismiss the income he's guaranteed, for a TPA which may not materialise in full.

Souths need cap space, so they need another club to directly take that cap space for next season. We could offer a 3 year deal with TPA's for the latter years but his registered contract for next season would still retain a cap value of $550k.

If that's what he was on you'd think they'd want us (or Penrith etc) to pay at least $400-450k

Money is money , I wasn't suggesting they wouldn't get the 550 k still BB as part of the salary cap

McQueen has found a home on the Gold Coast hope this time they have hid the springboard…2 years..
