Media Talk... Time to Shut Up!!!

A few members have written about this in and amongst other topics but I thought it was worthy of its own thread…

It concerns me that Tigers players are the only ones really being quoted in the lead up to Saturday's game. Lots of ex players having their two cents worth also. We've heard about everything from the choke and the pressure to the lack of Dragons fans attending and the tiredness factor.

It worries worries me too, that Bennett has the Dragons players ignoring this and quietly going about their business, plotting our downfall.

To the Tigers players, coaches, ex players and administrators... It's time to shut up.

Firstly the Drags are boring team.

Secondly The WT have done their bit to promote the game…

Thirdly Coach sheens Knows that we are a confidence based team so he has allowed the boys to talk it and now he will challenge the boys to walk that talk..

Net result.

I now that the Drags supporters are a bit frazzled by the hype....

The other thing is, there are only 4 teams left, so they're going to hound those 4 remaining teams for news stories to get through the week. The media will be at Concord again today for the team announcement and no doubt we'll see some more articles over the next few days.

As long as they aren't cocky... who cares... the talk about focusing on Gaz is great.. because I don't think Sheens seriously considers him a threat....

I dont mind actually because I think we're the first time who are really throwing down the challenge to the Dragons and really getting their face. Will be interesting if in the first 15-20 mins and they're not dominating us if they'll hit the panic button.

How do you know theyre ignoring it, interenet, papers, TV news….hard to ignore.

What utter rubbish… The Dally M is a flawed voting system and in no way resembles the best players or aligns them to being the best in the world in there relevant positions. You only need to look at last years result to realise the system doesn't work.

I for one don't rate Benji in the Top 10 Players in the game, but I would also say Carney and Benji are on equal pegging at present. You need to have a few good years before I'll endorse any player as being the 'best in rah bla blah'! The only thing that is true in your comment is the influence Channel Nine have in pushing there aligned stars...

i dont mind the media attention this week - maybe next week there will be nothing if we lose - bring on the media i say - im enjoying waking up and reading about the tigers - just hope we win and do it all over again next week.

Honestly who cares, the more the better it's finals football and the boys are enjoying it. Do you honestly think the Dragons were going to go easy on us until Beau spoke to the media? seriously…..

I can't see either side needing any extra incentives this week anyway.

Carney has out-played Benji throughout the year. Benji's inconsistancy is his problem, always has been. It's just now that he might string 2-3 great games together instead of 1 great game out of 10 like he used to. Lets see what he does this week.

Benji can go to an entirely other level though on his day which is what excites the fans and commentators alike.
I've been impressed with Carney though, he is consistently at a high level.
