Memo To Mitch and Luke

I don't mean to alarm all y'all peaceful peeps, but Brooks and Moses have played 94 games between them. With the average NRL career being 27 games IIRC, that's quite a lot of experience between two players.

And when you consider 30-40 games a good judgement point for a player's performance vs. potential gauge, it's quite scary.

I think the point now is are they NRL level players and how much should we be paying them.

I do not know why everyone is blaming the halves (to a lesser extent the outside backs) when the forwards are the problem.

The halves cannot do anything if the forwards do not make the ground, stand up and win the ruck. If this happens the halves have no time, no space and no people running onto the ball, decoys or chasers to do anything constructive.

Get stuck into the team by all means but get into the ones causing the problems.
Brooks takes on the line (more metres), Moses is the play maker (less metres), no excuse but a reason for some of our problems.

Thurston, morgan, Hunt, Milford etc. etc. would be hopeless behind our forwards.

Russell - the forwards haven't been terrible this year. We've been in most games. The halves if they player better would have won us several of those games. Based on their salary they should have won us some of those games.

The Canberra loss was a real bad one but apart from that loss we were in every game.

Steve, you are correct, they were not so bad in the first two games and won. If they had stood up more, which would have given the halves more opportunity - we may have won a few more.

Won't go into bad refereeing decisions, they are not an excuse only a reason - a good team overcomes those.

These kids need to learn about the NRL.

They talked up a massive game in pre season about being let off the leash and playing their footy.

Talking about their contracts like they were established super stars.

Well guess what, their footy sucks, and they are starting to look like dears in the headlights.

There tackline is terrible, our 5th play options are terrible.

Honestly in a strong club they would be sent back to NSW Cup for 3 months to learn the ropes and learn respect.

In our club they are put out there as the saviour and the next best thing.

Like people have said, its all hype no substance at the minute.

Eddie old mate,I have said many times that these two were great in their own age group, stepping up to the big arena has left them wanting.. If it was me,instead of telling my coach to let me off the leash, let me play what's in front of me and then not to produce the form I had in the lower grades…I would be embarrassed....JT was trying to teach them what they need to know to play to NRL structures and they thought they knew better, look where they are now, incompetent in the big arena and are being embarrassed week to week by guys who learnt how to play to NRL structures....anyone can blame the coaches, this problem with these overhyped statues, rests clearly on their shoulders, they were given what they wanted and can't produce the goods..... :frowning:

Responsibility rests with both the players and the coach.

**It suits your narrative to put it all on the players.** I agree they have learnt a valuable lesson.

However I'm not absolving Taylor of all blame. Its the coachs job to win game, motivate players, improve players and im not seeing it in any facet.

Fact is Brooks has regressed as a footballer Since Potter had him in 2013 and 2014.

Brooks and Moses both need to improve but to state that Taylor let them off the leash and that is why they aren't performing is nutters. They weren't performing on the leash if any of this is even true.

This. I have not seen one thing that would make me think these blokes are worth 6 figures. Performing good atb junior level and holden cup means sweet f all in you are unable tob perform in first grade.

Scared of the big bad tradie Raiders. Lmao Brooks basically moving out of the way of people running at him. Absolutely shameful.

Says everything about Brooks attitude that he is attempting intercepts all the time.

Sometimes not willing to put the body on the line.

This coming from strong information that his fitness was really poor in the pre season.

Too much money too soon.

Gone to his head.

Shame.
