Michael Maguire Inteview - Radio

Pretty standard interview , I wonder who we have that we can offload to another club to get a upgrade who isn't already necessary to our current fortunes

Reynolds is probably the only one who comes to mind

Clubs aren't going to hand over Matt Gillett for Robbie Rochow as an example

Cheers Spartan, that was a good interview. It feels like we've been through this so many times in the past few years. I guess the main difference this year is we have a proven premiership winner and someone from winning football teams. Maguire's comments are encouraging, but I'm not going to get too excited just yet.

Taylor all talk …Cleary all talk ...Maguire hopefully less talk and more action! A good appointment but could not care less about the talk it is finally time that a coach the Tigers have signed steps up to plate and releases the eye of the Tiger that we all know is there somewhere.

Why are people annoyed that coaches "talk"? Cleary, okay, because he took off and left. But Taylor, and now Maguire, what do you expect them to do? Of course they are going to come in with a mission statement, targeting areas that need improving. Whether they achieve it is another issue. But when the talk is of improving the club, why the hate?

It's club publicity and fan engagement in a manner of speaking. People want to hear his vision. The fan base isn't limited to a few hundred people who regularly post on a forum.

Correct. Especially after the deafening silence during the Cleary negotiations, (which was understandable and laudable), many fans want to hear what the new coach has to say. I did too. I would not be impressed if he palmed off the interviews until after his commitments in England finished. That he has made the time to speak while involved in an international series is commendable.

Thanks Spartan
Any news at this time of year is great, considering the cricket fall back disappointment,
talk of juniors was good, hope he can make a couple of significant roster changes before the pre season that adds further quality and toughness to the Tigers
