Mid Season Trades

If he learns to defend and not rush in then I'm all for it.

To be honest he and ken are our best wingers. But wouldn't mind seeing Tupou back in to give him experience.

This year is irrelevant. Especially when we get shafted by the refs regularly.
Hopefully Bellyache will iron out stuff like this and he'll come back a better player

Like most NRL rules they haven't thought of every possibility with this rule. As it currently is working, two teams are going to rort this big time eventually and everyone will blow up about it

Amazing that we as a club have supporters wanting our team to win a game and avoid the wooden spoon, the biggest downer a supporter can want his team to own, are about to assist other teams who will be playing semi finals in their quest to win the premiership in preference to our own team winning games, but more than that, we have supporters here who think its a good thing, that we let them have our players, to help them out, as they have injuries, hullo think we have some to, and i would as a supporter of the west tigers still like to watch them playing on telly each week with the best team we can muster, and avoid, i personally do not care if melbourne have a shortage of players, i just want us to win a match or two and avoid the spoon.

The NRL need to apply a proper trade market, so that there's an element of risk involved for the 'buying' team.
As in, they can go all in for this year and take Nofo off us, but we get the opportunity to grab one of their young guns playing Q Cup, which helps with our rebuild.

I like the idea of mid-seasons trade but needs to have limitations on how many a top 8 side could obtain. My limit would be 2 players per season.

I think it would be a great experience for David as he has only played for one club and never in a finals series.

I am hoping he comes back a better player under Bellamy or if not is traded to someone like the Eels.

Maybe Melbourne should be sending WT a quality backrower in engaged?
Yeah, we get felise kaufusi and in the first game with us gets suspended for the remainder of the year.

I strongly suspect Nofoaluma is not in the Tigers plans for the rest of 2022? If not this saves Tigers some money reportedly up to 20% of Nofo's contract.

Because otherwise the guy was named in reserves this week and hasn't appeared near firsts for several weeks prior.

The Harry Grant thing was a win-win trade for both clubs.

The TPJ thing was Broncos wanting to offload a bad influence and save some cash by Panthers paying for him before he went to Bulldogs.

I don't think any team will voluntarily help another team out - there would always be something in it for the lower team.

I suppose my biggest concern is this getting out of control and top 4 teams annually raid bottom 4 clubs so that the latter lose competitiveness over the final month. Say NQ get Tino, Penrith Burton etc. It’s insulting to those club’s supporters and warps the final series.

It also warps the player market. Aside from some possibly pride in not finishing last what’s to stop the Dogs shipping off Burton and JAC so they can offer someone more money for next season? Yes it may benefit us this time but I still don’t like it.

Exactly my thoughts, but if it can end up like an annual spring clean, to our benefit, then I’m all for it.

It should go
back to the 30/6 to complete all trades, that would stop this quicker than a NLAW on a Russian tank.

I don't like it at all. It means you can pump up your roster for a much lesser cost. Melbourne get Nofo for 100k at the crunch time of the season whereas we have to sign him for 3 years on 500k per season.

That's exactly what I've said, and tiger's during the year have had about 10 players out injured did other clubs care to help us out with their players, every club starts the year with 30 players do your best during the year and that's it, wow poor Melbourne storm lost 4 in a row and it's panic time, searching the nrl competition for players

Noffa could get injured playing for us, he could get injured if we get in the finals. He could get injured at pre- season.

Not saying Nof is young, but young players playing big games is great development. I really want Brooks to play a couple of finals game, he's literally never played a big game in his FG career. I think there was one game against the sharks in rd26 which was a do or die game but other than that- nothing.

Players need to play, let them play. Give them exposure.

Yes noffa could get injured while playing for us that's fine, whose paying the player 500,000 a year next year if injured while with storm is it all coming out of their salary cap next year???
