Minute silence

I think it brought out the best is us. The first ten minutes we were there and we looked good. after that it was game over.

I think it may have rattled a few of the boys after we scored that first try, maybe it playing on their minds and they were no longer mentally in the zone for a game of footy.

I could be wrong, and as much as I have concerns over our defence, I'm not worried. I think it may infact be a beneficial loss for our season.

Nothing beneficial about a 30 point loss when your team has a habit of finishing just outside the 8\. Those blowout scores have a way of biting you in September.

the size of the loss is not ideal but it highlighted our weaknesses in defence which will no doubt be addressed.

I'm just saying that we were there, then we weren't. It was complete capitulation and I think some of the guys were shaken up and played that first ten mins on emotion.

Who knows what caused that implosion. What i do know is that they shouldnt be looking for excuses to explain it away. If they take it personally and are embarrassed by it, it could turn out to be the catalyst they need to change attitudes and work harder for the man next to them.

This has been an issue for years! Sheens allowed a soft mental attitude to instill itself in the team and the senior players still have it. They need all the stars to align to play to their best!

Time to change. Actually, it's way past the time to change.

I must say that I was highly impressed with the minutes silence, an AWAY game and no fools yelling out!.

I did mention while watching it was good they gave the full minute and not the usual "twenty second" minute

Although it is an important and nice touch, I'm not so sure that the minutes silence does our performance any good. See WT v Roosters @ Leichhardt last year. That being said, I would never suggest we scrap it because it will affect our game.

Agreed, it was a great respect from Newcastle and their fans.

I thought it was tremendous on the part of the Newcastle fans. I was only watching on tv, but it would have been nice to see some of our players applaud the Newcastle crowd to acknowledge their respect was appreciated.
