Mitch Brown

We had alot of good players out there today, but special mention to Brown who IMO was close to the best on the park.

Did not put a foot wrong and the amount of metres he made on kick returns was amazing. Hits the line hard and fast, offers plenty of IMPACT, something we have not had hardly any of from our fullbacks this season.

He looks like a confidence player and he would have gained a huge amount of confidence from that performance today.

Yeh really happy for Mitch. He's never gonna be a superstar but the guy is a decent player. I'd have him at fullback next week with Mckinnon playing State Cup for a week, then after Wade has had a run, id bring him back and play Mitch on the wing instead of Ryan

He was awesome no doubt, ryan played well too…

On Brown i especially like how he doesnt get dominated when tackled he must be a strong lad.

hehehehe hybrid, i watch the game this time!!! Anyways, I agree with you, nearly our best today. Lacks speed but more than makes up for it in his positioning, defence and most of all he is the best we have under the high ball.

Ryan was OK but he runs sideways too much for my liking. Very good take on that bomb in the first half though.

Agree on Brown, he is a very big build for a back, good upper body strength and is rarely dominated.

he was only really put under pressure a couple of times, but handled himself well.
Otherwise he was made to look good by a terrible panthers kicking game

Would his performance today shut Fitzy out of first grade for good? Dare I ask have we FINALLY seen the last of Fitzy?

if given a chance i think brown can be a top 5 fullback in the league.not bad when theres slater hayne e.t.c

A try to Mitch would have been the icing on the cake, I have posted all along that McKinnon should have played NSW Cup before being rushed into the NRL team, great win, good effort Mitch, would have liked to have seen Daniella get more game time against his former club too.

We have not had a player at the back who runs hard and straight all season (maybe McKinnon aside).

Terrible kicking game had nothing to do with him hitting the line like a steam train on every kick return. How refreshing was it to start sets from the 30 instead of the 10 for once?

He was good today however he wasn't tested much under the high ball. I like the fact that he runs it back hard and straight. It gets us off to a good start.

Fitzhenry was 18th man…

Mitch Brown proved a weeks a long time in footy...

I agree Hybrid....one of our best!!

Remember Ryan made 250+ metres or something spectacular in his first game at fullback. Then sheens taught him how to play in the 1 jersey.

Great to see Mitch have a really good game today though. Top effort from him.

In the pre-season I said he'd be our best off season purchase if he got a decent crack @ the #1 jumper. He always looked the goods whenever he played his natural position at the Sharks. I'm a McKinnon fan, but its massive shame Mitch wasn't at the front of the queue ahead of Moltzen for the fullback position going into round 1.

Full credit to Mitch. He's played well and I'll be brutally honest, I rated him one of the worst players I've ever seen in 2009\. He was hopeless in one of the worst backlines ever assembled at Cronulla. Credit to him. He's now a solid first grader.

Apparently humphreys told sheens to drop fitzy weeks ago that he wasnt FG standard….fitzy will NEVER wear a WT jersey again....sheens has been told and he has fallen into line if he wants his job next year.

I agree with Gus with his thoughts on Mitch Brown. The bloke has never really been given a good run in FG and has been unlucky. Today was his best game at the club. Safe and strong. I too was unsure why McKinnon was rushed into the side when he had struggelled for form and fitness at the Warriors. All the while Mitch was off the wing or the bench. I'ld leave Mitch there.
