Mitch Moses - Defense - Courage

In watching the last few weeks of games and regardless of the results I have come away with a resounding and very positive opinion / assessment of Mitch Moses Defense.

This young man has a tremendous amount of courage and must be commended at the Intent and in an ever increasing percentage is producing results against hardened professionals. It is very clear that he is targeted by the opposition.

Keyboard warriors are always quick to denigrate, but It needs to be acknowledged that there has been a vast improvement in the very little time he has been in first grade.

I have little doubt that he will meet our expectations if he continues to work hard.

Keep it up,

i dont see any difference in the way he's tackling or his positioning in the line tbh- what i do see a difference in is that he seems more ready that they're gonna run at him. he's been great considering how much he's been targetted.

I've never had any doubts that's he's got heaps of courage, but I still don't think he's ready for first grade . And I don't think that he adds adds enough to the team to make up for his missed tackles, particularly near the line
At least Brooks has shown on a few occasions that if he gets in the clear, there's not many( none so far) that can run him down. He's certainly got some pace over 70 to 80 metres.

This year was always going to be hard for him, but he has kept his head above water imo,he has undoubted courage and a good technique, better cover from 2nd row (Lawrence)will help him and JT has persevered this long, may as well see it through

After watching Benji be a turnstile for the first 4-5 years, I think Moses is definitely ahead defensively and giving away some weight. He is behind offensively however, so that is the part that needs to mature next.

Im sure the S&C team know his body isnt quite ready for first grade , with him playing this year then a full off season of weights and strength work it wouldnt suprise me to see Mitch 5 -8 kgs heavier next season which will help him in attack and defence.

Moses has a great defensive attitude, technique and body size need a little more work. You can not coach attitude but you can teach technique and he will build up into a big lad over the next few years.

Said it from day one Moses will be a super star in a few years

If Moses has good technique in defence i would hate to see bad …!
His involvement has increased imo, but he is still a rocks or diamonds type player that has been elevated to the NRL before he has fully learnt his trade and physically developed which is not entirely his fault.

Every player in the NRL shirt grabs occasionally, in the Canberra game FPN picked him out for special attention on the try line and scored a couple of tries by running over the top of him even though Moses used his shoulder first ,110+Kg player is always going to run over the top of 80kg player, that is what I meant by good technique

Watching a couple of his breaks in the last few matches plus his great attitude in defence, I can see a superstar in the making. Although Te Mair-Martin hasn't yet played NRL, I think he is another superstar 5/8 in the making and I don't know how we are going to keep him.

And through it all he remains a cocky, confident kid. This to me is the biggest reason he'll be a notable (not sure if he'll ever become a superstar) player in the league. Once his ability grows to match his confidence, look out.

Moses is just as quick as Brooks,if not quicker.

Is that right? I've never noticed this before but I guess his running style may be a little deceptive.

Great to have so much speed in our halves to add to the likes of Teddy, Simona, Kev, Nofo etc.

Although they have missed some tackles I'm confident both Brooks & Moses are giving their all in defence. Certainly helps them when our pack are dominating though.

His on field swagger reminds me of a younger version of Michael Ennis - but the good part of it.

Apart from his mother, I don't know anyone who would think Ennis has a good side.

They're both quick but I would give the edge to Brooks in the speed department, he's deceptively quick and has gone the distance several times over the past 2 years.
