We let them go as a sign of faith in Moses and what does he do….strings the WT along in 2016 with protracted negotiations only to commit for a further 12 months at the 12th hour, then strings the WT along again in 2017....The guy is a spoilt brat and should be booed out of town quick smart...

Can you get it through your head that Moses isn't stringing anyone along - he was told he wasn't wanted.
Brooks took his revised offer when it was tabled.
Tedesco and Woods are the 2 stretching things out

Wrong again CK as others have pointed out

Well it's all in the interpretation I suppose.
I only wrote three sentences so let's take the Brooks bit as done.
As for Moses - if I had an offer and was then called in and said it's now off the table completely as you aren't a priority I would pretty much come to the conclusion I wasn't wanted.
Oh yeah… come talk to us again when the cap is known (and when will that be?) and maybe we'll come up with something lol
Moses can't be stringing the club along when he doesn't even have an offer.
If I'm so wrong you must also think Tedesco and Woods aren't stretching things out?
Just because you and some others think I'm wrong doesn't change what happened- or the fact I'm right.
Thanks for pointing it out though.

CT all those players had their contacts for months they all could have signed them if they had wanted to.
Moses played the gambit and lost, that's one of the outcomes of the gambit some you win and some you lose Moses lost.

How do you all know this?

It was in the clubs press release for a start.

So much conflicting information and rumour.

Only interested in confirmation of "staying" or "going" now.

A smashing tonight could just about top of one of the worst weeks ever being a WTs supporter for me - and there have been quite a few.
Season just started and feels like its already over - a good performance needed to help keep the faith.

Poor mitch

I'll agree .. but why the 'poor Mitch'?
He hasn't come out anywhere and said anything about it or badmouthed the club that I have seen.
After being told he wasn't in the plans his manager asked if he could be released to a team that already had a standing offer to him.
The club said no and Moses will play here until they change their mind.
It would be funny if both Tedesco and Woods sign somewhere else next week - does he become a priority again then?
Whether you like him or not (or rate him as a footballer) Moses is one of the few players in the team who actually busts a gut every week - I can never understand how our supporters turn so fast on certain players.

He asked for a release, after being told that the club WANTED him but his negotiations would have to be placed on hold as the 2 rep players were the priority. This happened after the uncertainty of the level of the cap was released last week. Clubs were operating under the assumption the cap would be 9-10 million, when infact it appears it will be around 8.3 million. I have no problem with him looking for a contract elsewhere for next year, it was the dummy spit in asking for a release that I didn't like.

ESTS TIGERS
Mitchell Moses never wanted to leave Wests Tigers according to his uncle Benny Elias

BALMAIN legend Benny Elias says departing Wests Tigers five-eighth Mitchell Moses had no other choice but to cut and run.

Reports emerged on Wednesday afternoon that Moses had turned his back on a $1 million-a-season three-year deal to stay at the Tigers, to instead sign with Sydney rivals Parramatta.

That version of events has since been disputed by the Tigers, with the club releasing a statement saying the offer to Moses had been withdrawn so the retention of Aaron Woods and James Tedesco could be prioritised.

Cynics have suggested that the Tigers only made public their version of events to put the brakes on a perception the club was spiralling out of control, unable to stop players leaving even with extraordinary seven-figure offers.

However Elias, who is Moses’ uncle, says that’s exactly what happened, with the club’s move blindsiding the 22-year-old and forcing him to act quickly to secure his future.

“I’m sure he’s very sad about exiting the Tigers but it is what it is and unfortunately the official comment that came out in the press release from the Tigers was that they wanted to prioritise Tedesco and Woods, which is fair enough,” Elias told Fox Sports’ chief NRL reporter James Hooper for NRL Tonight.

“So he had to make a move fairly quickly.

“Mitchell does not want to move, he never wanted to move, his mates there are all very very close, he loves the club, they’ve been terrific, but look they talk about the salary cap, they want to try and keep these two other players, they’ve already signed up Brooks, which is the third of the four.”

Ben Ikin, Nathan Ryan and Ben Glover are joined by Storm football manager Frank Ponissi to discuss the bombshell Cooper Cronk news and what it means for the club.

Never wanted to leave?!?! he has a contract on the table for months. Did he sign? no he dicked around wasting everyones time. Absolutely disgusted in these players, the managers and the nnnnrl for allowing trades andcontracts done during the season. Get contracts done in the off season!!!! If managers or p layers break the rule, ban f2fthem for two years straight up!!!

Balmain Tigers’ Benny Elias says Mitchell Moses had no choice but to leave Wests Tigers

BALMAIN legend Benny Elias has spoken out about his nephew Mitch Moses’ shock decision to quit Wests Tigers, declaring: “My heart bleeds.”

Moses signed with Parramatta after having his Wests Tigers offer withdrawn because the club decided to make Aaron Woods and James Tedesco their priority retentions.

Player agent Isaac Moses, who represents Mitchell Moses, sought an immediate release, which, for now, has been rejected.

Elias, the Balmain Tigers, NSW and Australian champion, was devastated for his nephew.

“Mitchell was forced out — of course he’s upset. He loves the club, he loves the place, he loves everything about the Tigers. He wanted to stay,” Elias said.

“My heart bleeds because I love the Tigers — but I understand why the kid did what he did. He was forced into a corner. He was told by the hierarchy he wasn’t a priority.”

Wests Tigers issued a media statement at 9.28pm on Wednesday blaming the uncertainty over next year’s salary cap for taking Moses’ deal off the table.

Elias was shattered by the revelation.

“Mitchell didn’t have much choice,” Elias said.

“I am disappointed, of course I am disappointed, like every other Tigers supporter. The club made a stance in their press release, stating they wanted to make Woods and Tedesco a priority and they withdrew Mitchell’s offer.

“You can understand what the young man did, his position, and his urgency to do the right thing for himself and his future. You can understand why he wanted an immediate exit.

“Have a look at the statement, they said they were withdrawing his offer to focus on Tedesco and Woods. I’d be dejected and upset also if I read that. I support Mitchell and his management 100 percent.”

Wests Tigers have denied a release to the Eels for Moses for now given the club is struggling for quality halves with Luke Brooks out injured. And it would be unlikely the club would allow Moses to walk away next week to play with Parramatta, who confront the Tigers at ANZ Stadium on Easter Monday.

Wests Tigers may consider allowing Moses a release in a few weeks.

“Ask any employee who is told by their boss that the company was going to prioritise and withdraw your offer, you’d have to be very disappointed, extremely disappointed, especially when you are wanted by many other clubs. I am very sad that he’s gone,” Elias said.

“But I have met (Eels coach) Brad Arthur, what a wonderful human being he is. He will be very good for Mitchell.”

Yeah, we WANT you to hang around and see what scraps are left over … or maybe we're fibbing.

This from a report in another thread...

"Pascoe said reports Moses had a deal on the table worth $1 million a year over three seasons were “not accurate’’.

Once the Tigers became aware of the revised forecasts for the 2018 salary cap, they knew it would be impossible to keep Moses deal on the table.

Cleary broke the news to Moses on Tuesday that **his offer had been spiked**.

**To his credit, Moses was understanding and did not storm out.**"

Why ask for a release this year..why not knuckle down and give it everything to get his current team back in the fight…Oh..

Mate I've read the article, I can understand him going to the Eels and signing the contract for next year. He quite obviously wasn't understanding though, he is gutless and got his manager/uncle to do the talking and ask for a release for the remainder of this year. All this because 2 proven rep players were considered more important than he was. What has Mitchell Moses proven to be a priority over Woods and Tedesco? All Moses did is chuck a tantrum, I can't respect that.

Moses chucked his toys out of the cot, no one signs a contract within hours and asks for an imediate release if they really wanted to stay at the club.

I agree completely with his effort, he certainly has he weaknesses but it is never a lack of trying. Whereas sometimes I thought Brookes brought his sleeping bag on field.

A few days ago I was opposed to releasing Mitch but now I am all for it. We can probably use the cap space it will provide to front end some contracts in this year and it was help us to work out where the true source of the problem in our right edge is.

Yeah I would release him once Brooks comes back from injury but I don't really want to see JLJ in first grade for the rest of the season. I was watching some of the Cutters v Blacktown game this afternoon and both Jackon Hastings and Cameron Cullen were pretty impressive. Hastings would be replacing one peanut with another but Cullen could be an option. He kicked really well today, took the line on well and showed plenty of commitment in defence. Looks like a tough little Queenslander. I haven't seen enough of him to know whether he's a consistent performer but he's got plenty of ability.

I recall watching Cullen play for GC last year and he looked good. He wouldn't be any worst than other options.

Once again you're wrong ..but what's new?
I'm just got a different point of view to everyone jumping on bandwagon.

ANddddd it continues… rumour mill claiming that all 4 will leave, Brooks reneging.

That will speak volumes for their ticker, a strong coach has come in and give them a dose of reality, the real players will cop the new direction and get on the bus.

If some of the people on here where fish they would jump onto the first boat to come within a kilometer of them. You dont need a rod line or bait.
