Mitchell Pearce

He will never play for us - accept it and move on.

If I told you last week that Luke Lewis was a chance of playing for tigers next year, would you have believed it??????

I'd rather buy Jeff Robson. He's very solid and could do the job we require for a fraction of the price.

loving robson this year, does all the small things that no one notices and has been huge in the sharks improvement this year. He also has a good kicking game and passing game and is very underrated. However, I agree with others, I would rather support a team who brings up their own players than buys the whole team.

Does anyone know of any bulldogs juniors in their current squad/next year apart from barba?

Barba is from Darwin, but played the majority of his junior football for North Devils in Brisbane…

Yeah but he played for the dogs under 20's, that's what I meant by "juniors", sorry for the confusion

not sure about any of these, but

reynolds
kasiano
barba

i consider juniors as people who haven't played for any other NRL team but yours, and i think bulldogs only have those players in their top 17 atm

A solid halfback like Pearce is actually more important to our team than an exceptional backrower like Lewis.

True. We should have learned that after Blair. Halfbacks can make a team. An average Origin half is a pretty good NRL half.

We have, at the moment, and for the next couple of years: Miller, Moses, Brooks, Sironen.

I am not a fan, however, we also have the option of playing Moltzen in the halfback role. So why would we want Pearce?

Anyone watch the last soo?

See how ordinary Thurston was in game II?

To base any argument on one game is bloody moronic.

And anyway after 6 months playing with the Tigers he will have played 6 , 7 and 1 and will be soo confused

Everyone who is basing Pearces worth in SOO is missing the point. At SOO, either he or Carney was expected to make the play, create breaks etf. HE IS NOT THAT KIND OF HALF. It is also not the kind of half we need at the Tigers. We need an organising half with a big boot and good passing game. Pearce is exactly the right type of half to work with Benji & Robbie, he is not the type of half to win you an origin.

Get him here, more important than Lewis

Pearce has played 3 SOO series now and has shown little to suggest he's a top shelf halfback….sorry he is over rated IMO

Why is everyone saying " would rather a half than Lewis ATM" .?
Why not both??
Our half was supposed to be lui and we know what happened there.
There are no halfbacks available now but Lewis is. Pick him up. Shed a couple of players and make a big play for a noted halfback .

The more I think about it the more I would like Pearce joining us, if there was an opportunity to get him. I think a lot will be dependant on who gets punted at season end if any ?

he wont come to us….penrith will take him up

Why would he go to Penrith? They have Walsh already. I don't think anyone will want to go to Penrith at the moment
