Yesterday on channel 9 sports they said moltzen manager said he wants to stay with the tigers long term and the club wants him and tuqiri is being chased by union but he wants to stay for another year.

Its an interesting one.

Moltzens future really has to come down to this season at halfback combined with Millers progression and any market movements.

On Lote it depends not only on comeback form but also whether his profile is still able to substantiate the level of third party sponsorship required to make him salary cap manageable

The ball is in both their courts.

If they both perform then extension to their contracts will be possible.

Lote's age and injuries are a concern. He might need to go back to union to chase the big retirement dollars.

Moltzen has talent but needs to produce on the field week in week out.
Halk back is so important to a team's sucess.

I like them both but if they can't find top form with so much at stake than I think maybe we should let them go. I believe that we may see their best in the back half of this year…. Or do I just hope?

The money they are on combined with Ellis' can realy be better spent i believe. Lets hope Wests can be big players in the open market

I think the tigers after the whole moltzen fiasco they would be able to cut moltzens salary as no one would want him after he changed his mind about the dragons and I think we should resign lote he is a great winger

Really don't think that will be an issue Not every CEO is as dumb as Doust

If any club was to sign him the contract would be ironclad to put it mildly..Tuqiri will all come down to his form If he can reach his 2010 form no one should begrudge him an extra season

Yea but moltzen will have to show us that he is worth the money that we are paying him and he needs to step up his game, I know it won't happen over night but hopefully he can now settle into half back and show some of that form he had from last year

Totally agree Westy Moltzen has to prove the doubters wrong and fill the 7 jersey well If not we need to get Miller back in top grade The fact that Miller has been made skipper of NYC says a lot imo

Yes I hope miller gives moltzen a run for his money though next year so they both will be the best person for the job either way

timmy needs to show his value or punt him , lotti needs to show something anything to show his value, or punt both we need top class players only at the club sorry if people on this site have soft spots for players but this will not win a comp my cash and support goes to wests tigers with players wanting to win , nothing lessssssssss

i think lote is awesome! and was so good when he turned up so i really hope he comes back this year and punishes and scores a bag of tries  if so they should hold on to him.

This talk that Moltzen has to prove his value or anything is only on the forum… He is well liked, respected by many in RL circles, and with the backing of the 'secret squirrel club' at Camp Concord has most likely already agreed to terms with the club.

But with Tauber... Anything can happen

I think the Tigers will sign Moltzen & he wants to play for us, also remember he has to be given a chance @ half not just a couple of games.

Makes perfect sense. Moltzen is under the most pressure IMO, with Miller breathing down his neck, Chisholm also in the ranks, and with DCE apparently looking to explore his options, and the likes of Ellis heading back to the UK and Tuqiri, Utai, Ryan and Moltz all off contract…The Tigers potentially have cash to spend next year.

Moltzen needs to find form sooner rather than later if he's going to secure a decent contract.

Yes to lote if he can be injury free this year.

Molzten let's see how he goes this year

I think Ryan will get another 2 or 3 year contract with the form he has shown the past 2 years and tuqiri will get another 1 Or 2 depending on his injurys I think utai might not get one and moltz might get a contract depending if they think miller might be better or not

Moltzen I would resign…he has a fair bit to offer and hopefully this year he will show that to a lot of people.

Tuqiri to me is a no brainer...he has to be cut free. He is not a marque player for mine anymore and represents poor value for money.

With the money we save on Ellis and Tuqiri, we can be very active in the market or lock in existing players to lengthy contracts.
