Moltzen Staying Or Going

so i've seen a couple of people say that someone may have to make way for Moltzen. If thats the case, i'd rather see him go. Not worth it IMO, unless that player is Lui

For the majority of the time Moltzen was at fullback it looked to me as though he didn't want the ball from kick returns and would position himself so he wouldnt have to take the ball. The last few weeks and the finals it looked as though someone got in his ear and told him to run straight and hard and thats what he did.
It would depend on what Tim Moltzen turns up to play. There's no point him going to the Dragons if he doesnt want to play for them

Tell that to Gibbs & Fifita

Still no reasonable explanation to my question.

Why did we urge him to look elsewhere in the first place….?

Ink I reckon the reason we urged him to look elsewhere was due to the cap, circumstances changed (includng moltz returning to form) so they have changed their mind

Last year?
B&W's saying "at the time" meaning mid this year.
Im just surprised as I've never heard Sheens criticise him….
B&Ws reason was pretty specific...Luis defence at the time was the worst in the NRL, nowhere as bad as Moltzen...surprised Sheens said that, not something youd state when youve told the player to look elsewhere I'd have thought

You where crying that you didn't know the reason Moltzen was told to move on.
So I told you and now you want to dispute it.

You never heard Sheens Criticise Moltzen - What has that got to do with it ?
I have never heard Sheens talk about his mother in law - So What ?
Just because You didn't "hear it" doesn't mean it didn't happen.

The reason Moltzen was told by Sheens to look elsewhere was his Defence. That is the reason Sheens gave to his Manager. Repeat: Sheens said to look elsewhere because his defense wasn't up to NRL standard.
The real reason might be Sheens didn't like Moltzens skinny legs I don't know..but the reason given to his Manager was his defence.

Lui's defence may have been worse So what ? Sheens didn't want to get rid of Lui.
Probably something to do with Lui's potential replacement Miller missing an average of 4-5 tackles per game at NYC level.

Sheens is the boss he does and says whatever he wants, Just because it doesn't make sense to you or you never heard it doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Crying? Grow up. :unamused:

Its just your opinion isnt it?
If not provide a link…or simply post where you came by this info...or is it some big secret?

Yep….logical

LOL...Sheens says his Defence is no good yet plays him all season, tells him to look around then holds the release papers up his sleeve.

Thanks for the laff B&W

I find it hard to believe that Sheens bawled Moltzen out over poor performances when I'm sure I heard him state somehwhere that Moltzen would take 6-7 months to overcome his inujury

It was Sheens' fault it took Moltz so long to gain confidence in his body. Playing him 10 mins here and there for weeks was a disgraceful decision. If he gave moltzen full games in State cup for the first month, he would have backed his body a lot earlier, and who knows how good he would have played at seasons end. Theres no way giving him those short stints where he hardly touched the ball or made a tackle did him any good. Getting dirty with the men in State Cup is what he needed, regardless of the standard of that compitition, its the physical contact and match fitness that was needed.

In the end only one contract is registered. Ball is in Tigers court. But I ohpe they settle thi quickly and not stuff the poor bloke around.

playing him in a different position each week didn't really help much.

I think Moltz is already a very good player and expect him to be a wonderful player.

I dont think ill ever understand why there is so many on the forum that jsut do not rate him.

Seriously, he's happiest at f/b….playing there imo allows him to play to his strength, his support play

His game at fullback started to pick up as the season progressed but if Lui goes (and Moltz stays) I hope Sheens trials him at halfback to see how he does.

Indeed. If we do keep Moltzen it is only right if Sheens tests him at both halfback and fullback.

Moltzen is not the answer at 7 if he stays. He's better at fullback, it's that simple.

i think Miller will get first shot at Half Back… if that doesnt work i rekon Moltz will then come in
Lui is pretty much catching up with his arse to where ever its going
and Moltz will be the full back me thinks

No other player will be lost due to moltz staying. Wests had 200k under the cap left to move with the exempt from Dwyer wests have more then enough money.
