Moltzen Staying Or Going

Who knows, maybe this whole thing with Moltzen for the last 2 weeks has been a smoke screen. Perhaps what they were realy doing was negotiating with someone else, and used Moltzen as the fall back plan should this potential deal fall through. They could see it as a win-win situation by either getting the man they were targeting, or from a legal stand point, being able to retain Moltzen if they wished

Even if that were the case, Humpty comes out of this looking like a fool after standing firm on the fact Moltzen was staying put, then coming out less then a week later saying he can go. That is of course, unless he has something up his sleeve. Someone else has to be signed, because why else would they fight for him, then concede defeat when they legally have the only valid contract?

I will explain it to you. The FIB told Martin TAUBER that Moltzen is not in the Fonz's plans for 2012 and to find him a new club.

TAUBER gets a deal happening with Saints Illawarra and Moltz signs on the dotted line.

Benji finds out and goes nuts, wants answers.

The FIB goes into damage control (or BS control) to alleviate huge unrest amongst players and spins some spit and says that Moltz had not been officially released. (Yet !!! ). Well it was too late because the ship had well and truly hit the sand.

Tauber flies back into the country this week and approaches the FIB and asks him which part of the comment 'Moltzen is not in our plans and find him another club in 2012' he must of misunderstod when he organised the contract with Saints Illawarra.

The FIB then crawled into his little black and orange shell in the fetal position and resumed sucking his thumb

End of story.

Sadly, 100% true.

Except it's not, is it? True, I mean. If this has all happened in response to Marshall kicking up a stink why did everything go quiet for months then blow up again after the season? Did Marshall somehow forget Moltzen was leaving then spit the dummy again for no obvious reason at the start of October? And even if it was all because of Marshall why would Humphreys say - in public - that Moltzen was staying if there was no backing for it? I know people think Humphreys is stupid but come on, think it through a bit. "Yes Benji, you're getting a brand new bike for Christmas and we're going to Disneyland. But hey, if you wake up on Christmas morning and there's nothing but a pair of socks under the tree you'll be cool about that too, right?"

Seriously, guys: no-one here knows more than about 10% of the facts and some of these theories are just pure dribble.

I said it before and i will say it again Moltzen should go to the dragons and i hope he is a star, he was told to look around he did and got a good offer from the dragons,he is a young guy and can set himself for life with a 3 year contract so good luck to him. The tigers stuff up Lui looks like he could be gone we call foul and try to stop him so go Tim and good luck and the tigers should get over it and get on with it and groom another half for next season

2 facts that i know as me and Moltz share a mutual friend. 1\. He desperately wants to stay 2\. He is currently overseas on holiday. Late last week he presumed he was remaining with us. I'm not sure if he even knows of the latest development. I can't figure it out. Why didnt Doust ask for a release? and why now the back-flip from WT?

To- Morrow we play Paper Rock Scissors to see if he goes or stays, this is sad.

The problem is they can't decide if it will be cut throat or the classic best of 3 model.

This time last week I thought I was roughly the same chance as being in the Tigers best 17 as Tim Moltzen, but by the weekend I was certain he was staying.

Today who knows??

Well something has changed Drasticaly in the last 72 hours. As last week I would have put My house on him staying a tiger.

To me, the backflip has happened after fridays court appearance for Lui… i think its just as simple as Humphries thought Lui would get a little more dumped on him in court that what he did and now he realises that Lui will be around next year so a)we dont need Moltz after all, b)moltz wouldnt fit in the cap anyway?

I saw on another thread here today that Tedesco has just signed an NRL contract next year too?, not sure if thats confirmed or not and i guess it doesnt mean he actually gets a start anyway.
Isnt it also common knowledge that Sheens wants a bigger pack, so I dont think we will see big $ thrown at any new backs, especially Carney.

i dont know how he could have expected to have more dumped on him in court, it was the most damaging testimony i could imagine.

i dont know what ill do if lui stays, i will support us, but i think i will be at least a little jaded.

I do agree with you Goose, 100%. I just feel thats when the backflip started. Maybe "dumped on him" was the wrong wording, I should have said maybe Humpty was expecting a heavier penalty?
And yes, Lui will be hard to support for some time. I guess ill cheer him on out on the field, but definately wouldnt take my kids over to him after a game for an autograph!.. for some time anyway.

just was hearing on sky news benji marshall and all the nz players were haveing a team photo he spoke about tim moltzen he said he was unhappy if the tigers are not going to keep him!!!!
