Moltzen

I think criticising moltzen for his talk is silly given potter has said this is one of his strengths -so whatever he is doing here ( and it is a huge part of the fullbacks game).

Agreed….I see a lot of so called experts admonishing Moltzy for his talk, yet Potter has said this is something Teddy needs to work on.

I think it comes down to Moltzen having been caught out bagging his team mates with his talk previously when the chips have been down.

I have never been pro or anti moltzen but his performance tonight was good and for his detractors to criticize him again is bordering on obsessional.

His support play is non existent for a fullback, correct or not?

25m in attack and 5 tackles this week, 55m and 3 ackles last week and 55m & 10 tackles in the first week is all you need from a fullback apparently. but of course stats aren;t everything, he adds sooo much else…
moltzen 4eva :crazy

Was just watching Tedeso he is a formula 1 car compared to Moltzens pair of rollerskates.Hopefully it wont be too much longer before our best fullback is in first grade

We are losing a minimum of 10 metres every time he catches the ball because he runs heaps of metres laterally to marry up with a winger rather than go flat out towards the opposition tryline. Ask any of our forwards what they would be doing if they had that much space to work with.

Who would you prefer over Moltzen at full back ?
1.SLATER
2BARBA
3 HAYNE
4ZILLMAN
5 STEWART
6 MINICHIELLO
7 NORMAN
8 GORDON
9 LOCKE
10 WHARE
11 INGLIS
12 ROBINSON
13 BEALE
14 BOYD
15 BOWEN

ANYONE OF THE ABOVE PLAYING ON ONE LEG…

they're not all amazing, beale is still on his way up, robinson, locke, minichello, zillman. They're not exactly a whole grade above moltzen right now. But tedesco is defenitely the better player.

Think about how good Tedesco truly is in reggies so far. He looks like an international at that grade. Would Moltzen? Not in my opinion.

Why Potter favors Moltzen over Tedesco I just don't know…but he does and will stick with him unless his injured.
Might be the Mullaney story all over again...."Keep going your getting close"

Everyone can see Tedesco is the superior player including other clubs.

Got my first look at Tedesco for the season today and wow, his attacking ability even now is better than the majority of nrl fullbacks. Wasn't really tested defensively other than the odd kick he had to get under though. The question about Moltzen I think is less about Moltzen and more about Teddy. Timmy can play as well as wants but Teddy looks a cut above his level in every aspect other than first grade experience.

It will be tough on Moltzen when it does happen but Teddy looks a generation player for us. Interesting to also note that the ACL injury does not appear to have hampered him one bit. His acceleration looks good, his movement and footwork sharp and his ability to twist and turn is very effective. Suspect it's a matter of time before he's in the top grade. And as I said, Moltzen may have little say in it.

^ Not necessarily. I think Potter will give Teddy a go, even if it's to start on the wing. Moltzen won't be number 1 for much longer, I think we will see 1\. Teddy very soon

Must give credit where credit is due. Very solid performance against Parra. Need to work on him returning the ball and folowing through for offloads. Also attitude. If he can fix these, then he can hold his spot.

Moltzen is a cat.

I can't stand that "Who the hell is going to hit this up for me" look on his face everytime he takes a kick. We need more from a number one.

He also needs to chime into backline play a bit more. He's not doing anything that Mitch Brown or Beau Ryan couldn't do.
