Momentum penalty analysis

Please dont merge this with the game thread, I want to collate all of the bad and "50/50" calls against us today in a single place and determine if i and others are being unreasonable as to how much the ref's screwed us today.

As always, I will fall on my sword if I am wrong.

Can people help me out with some of the decisions:

- Hamole knock on at the play the ball
- Captains challenge not won
- Knock on (i think via Ethan roberts)
- set restart on 4th tackle in first half when hamole had the ball
- set restart on 4th tackle in second half on our tryline when haomle had the ball
- manly offside in the opening 10 minutes and no penalties blown

I plan to time stamp these and correlate the events that took place after and the contribution they had to manly tries.

If possible, timestamp them (or give me enough detail that its easy to go back and find the specific incident when I'm watching the replay)

Thanks in advance

And thanks to you champion @mtd#2 - I feel this going to be a long thread, and frightening.

The Tigers went 20 minutes conceding 4 penalties/restarts to Manly's 1, despite there being clear set restarts and offsides that could have also been blown the Tigers way. The Taylan May ruck infringement was a hand out, as was the Latu Fainu ball strip (i still cant believe that they acknowledged there was no stripping motion but ruled it inconclusive).

Then from the 25th minute mark, there was another 3 back to back to Manly before the Faulalo try.

The square up started in the 38th minute.

It begs the question, why was there no sin bin when there were 4 penalties in a row in the space of 3 minutes? Happened to Luai vs the Cowboys last year. I'd cop the Mason sin bin alot easier if they applied the rules both ways and we saw Hamole or Koula sin binned when they should have been.

And champion @mtd#2, we see this refereeing across just about every game, and the ref and bunker now are dominant and sway games, whether they intended to or not.
Momentum used to be resultant of teams' efforts now it's the refs.
It falls at the feet of the NRL head honchos - they are responsible - the refs and bunker do what they are told.

Even if we got favours from the refs we probably don’t take advantage with the players filling in, disappointing but got what we deserved against a strong outfit.

Brooksy showing a few that he has always been a serviceable first grade footy player, with some cattle around him.

You know. When we played Newcastle and we got all the calls I was thinking the ref's won us this game. It was bullstool man.

I hate winning that way. How do Roosters fans sleep.

Same cattle last 2 years. What are you talking about man. New coach.

Before the game we have hope. It starts out fairly. Like the better team wins. Innocence in otherwords.

Then reality kicks in when the ref's start controlling the game.

The square-ups should have led to a binning. Tigers were denied the opportunity to attack due to four infringements over a very short period of time, that constitutes a professional foul. At least the officiating was statistically even at half-time and nobody notices if one team received most of their penalties in the couple of minutes before half-time and each on tackle one.

I agree the two blatant penalties on half time was a dead set professional foul. He didn’t miss the Mason one.

But a penalty does not mean it's justified. Some are. Many aren't.
And so what if one team receives more penalties than the other. If it is justified than so be it. But to say the penalties were even sounds more like Sports Bet to me and a cover story for the NRL
