Motivation

I don't know if it's just me, but I am never upset if the Tigers lose going down fighting.

But, what really upsets me is when the team doesn't seem like they have turned up to play. It happens so often for us and the Souths game first half was a prime example.

I'm, not sure what the issue is. Has Sheens got an inability to focus the troops? are there internal issues in the club effecting the players?

All I know is that I think it would be great for the coach to focus on motivating the fellas. Whether it be getting someone in to do the job or working out a new approach. But something needs to be done to make sure the guys at least turn up to play!!

It's why teams like the Storm and Dragons are champions. They never roll over.

Would love to hear everyone's thoughts.

Sheens owes all WT fans ANOTHER apology for that first 40mins!!
I hope to see him conduct this on WTV during the week and give us mug fans some motivation to make the trek out to that hell hole in sub zero temperatures this Saturday night!!

Agree. When we are hot we are HOT but when we are bad we are diabolically woeful :frowning:

I can't explain it. How can the same team that beat Canberra by 30-odd points put on that first half display against Souths???? Dead set, if it were horse racing there'd be an inquiry.

They were so bad on Sat night it hurt. Actually bad doesn't decribe it… We didn't find touch on a penalty (and were lucky to get away with it). The drop out that found touch after Utai's air swing. The soft defence right up the middle. My God it was train-wreck television.

One would assume WT would have learnt from that disgraceful 80min display against none other than SOUTHS in the past that this would NEVER happen again. I really don't mind if WT lose matches. Yes it hurts, but not as much as it hurts to think that the boys run out there and don't give a rat's!!
It's a disgrace to the jersey, and if i were playing in that team and knew that, i would ask the coach myself to drop me to reggies!!
If the boys don't run out there this Saturday and restore some pride in that jersey and redeem themselves i will be forced to cut up my membership card too!!
Just remember WT…..we don't care if you lose, but go down fighting like your lives depend on it!! FIRE UP!! :sign:

It made me angry to watch. A p*** poor effort by the boys. Is it that hard to get up for 80 minutes of football every week? If so, how do St George do it?

They shouldnt have to be motivated to win a game of football or perform to their capabalities. They are professional footballers who get paid a whole lot of money and dont need motivationn to perform, just knowing that there jobs are on the line if they dont perform should be enough to ensure that they perform from week to week. Most people would kill to be able to get paid and set themselves up for life by playing football and enjoying themselves.

This applies moreso to the top tier players, but how about the six figure sums they are paid to play?
