And would any of us want our kids or teenagers reading about this and then trying to access this movie on the net That is why I said what I said previously

We ban people for swearing and whatever else but we talk about watching this

No double standards imo MODS

Yeah, I have to agree with you there, Happy. All the talk about this movie would make kids want to check it out even more. It's like when something is deemed taboo, you just want to go near it! That goes for most people, but especially so for kids.

With all respect Happy, it's no different to discussing the Human Centipede. Both are depraved and push the limits of "tasteful film," and I use that term very loosely having not watched either film and I would categorise both as useless efforts in the field of cinema based purely on reading the story lines. No one has broken forum rules by simply discussing it loosely on here.

That being said, I do suggest we move on… Are there any half decent efforts on the horizon?

Woh woh woh woh there Happy. You and i agree on a lot of things but not this mate. I can not and will not agree with your line on censorship. I brought this up as myself and a few others on here like extreme cinema. I had a feeling some of them had seen it and wanted their opinion. Underneath all of the offensive stuff there is a film. Whether it is good or bad is up to interpretation. Some of us do not like Disney movies…..

In no way have I endorsed this film and havent discussed any of the scenes at all. If people have their interest spiked and look it up then thats their right and they shouldnt be looked down upon....this isnt a communist country. You want people banned for mentioning a film that you havent even seen and know very little about? Poor form dude.

Anyway....enough about this. Willow, that trailer looks the goods. I love Nolans take on Batman and cant wait to see what he has done for the 3rd installment. I thought the first was very good and the second brilliant....big hopes for this one.

Understand what your saying Happy and Flip, but the way kids are with technology these dayz, they don't need someone reminding them what Wikipedia is. They know enough to do their own research. As Stryker said, no one is endorsing it, I think we all agree the movie is horrible. From what the movie sounds like, i don't think this 'movie' if you can call it that, warrents anymore discussion. Maybe we should move on

Here is the first trailer for Wrath of the Titans:

Stryker would you want your kids to watch this film

All I am saying is we have a responsibility to the younger members of the Forum (they are some 14 year old members ) to not try and influence them to watching a film that they are not mentally or phsyically able to deal with on any level

Stryker don't you feel as older members of the Forum we have a morale obligation to try and prevent people from watching this film that are definitely not ready to watch it

Stryker if you wish to PM blokes about this film that fine and if you wanted to talk to pople who are old enough about this film that's fine as well but we have to remember we aren't the only users on the Forum

I don't want the film censored and I am sure as hell not a communist (don't you say anything Yoss  ) I just want you to realise that their are younger people on the Forum who may be influenced in the wrong way It wasn't personal or meant to be personal

No I wouldnt it's an R rated film and they should not see it. However I watched many 'R's when underage as I am sure most of us have done. It is not my job to police what strangers do. It is not my problem and I have no obligations at all. If they want to see it they'll see it. In this day and age nothing you can do will stop them.

Happy I am not a politically correct person. Infact I fight against it. The people who make these types of horror movies are not afraid to show things how they think they really are. They go for realism and thats what offends people. Do you know what offends me? Those that say you 'should, must or have to' do something. As long as I am operating within the boundaries of the law then no mate, I DO NOT. There are many commercial films out there that contain very poor messages and are lauded by the public.

Take this film for example:
A depressed young girl moves to a new town and falls in love with a vampire. Vampire ultimately rejects her and she spirals into self loathing and suicidal tendancies. If they can not be together, she would rather be dead. She then falls for a werewolf and uses him in a callous way to reunite with the vampire which she does. Not wanting to lose the vampire again, she pleads and begs him to kill her and transform her, giving little concern to her family and friends who will be heartbroken. He does this due to her giving birth to a mutant humanoid who is eating her way out of the womb and killing her. When the baby is born, the werewolf falls in love with it.
Sound familiar? Thats the plot of Twilight, a book and film series aimed squarely at 12 year old girls. It has grossed over 2 Billion dollars globally not counting the final yet to be released movie and the books.

This is a movie thread and this film in its cut version was theatrically released and is commercially available and has been for more than a year. You dont have to go to some dark and dingy website to get it. The subject matter is aweful I agree, but we havent discussed anything on here explicitly. You are offended and so you should be. You are supposed to be. But using that anger to stifle others is not on in my book.

Concerned not angry mate would be the way I feel about this

Anyway, back to the world of entertainment, I saw Mission Impossible 4 and thought it was a great action film with some brilliant stunts that have to be seen to be believed. Tom Cruise was good but I was equally impressed with Jeremy Renner who keeps on impressing in everything I see him in.

I don't know what to be more concerned about. The R rated film, or the fact that you know the plot of twilight inside and out…

haha yeah sad eh? In my defense I have a 17 year old sister who loves that crap and is always banging on about it.

Willow, not a big Cruise fan but I have heard MI4 is a good flick. Worth checking out yeah?

Yeah definitely worth checking out. Sometimes I find Cruise tries a bit too hard but he was good in this and the supporting cast all had pretty good roles. Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner were both good while the chick in it has some pretty good moves. It's the best action film I've seen this year.

Cool I'll see it over the break sometime.

Have you seen the trailer for his other project Rock of Ages? What a camp and silly looking show that is….I do like some of those songs though...

Rock of Ages looks silly, definitely not a film I plan on seeing. The link below is for one film I definitely plan on seeing next year, first teaser for Ridley Scott's first foray into sci-fi since Bladerunner - Prometheus, which is not a direct prequel to Alien, but there is Alien DNA in it, along with a great cast.

Saw Tower Heist on Boxing Day. Disappointing I have to say, it wasn't really a comedy as such with Stiller having a decent dig at being serious with Murphy trying to be the source of all the laughs. It just didn't work.

Just finished V for Vendetta (2005).

Pretty solid movie even though Natalie Portmans accent drifting between English and South African was slightly off putting.

For those with little ones went and saw the new Chipmunks 3 movie

I think I would of preferred to watch Stryker's movie we were talking about a few days ago

It was that lame it was incredible A lot of money for 90 minutes broken sleep

Currently watching a Few Good Men and remembered thinking how I thought the actor playing Dawson was fantastic in the role and would be the next big thing and never heard of him again
