I am just curious, what is everyone's favourite type of movie. I like alot of different types of movies but I think I love disaster movies the most. Movies like Indepence Day, Dawn of the Dead, War of the Worlds, I am Legend, The Day After Tommorow, Deep Impact, Armageddon, 2012, Right at your Door. Whilst I watch these type of movies I often wonder what I would do to survive. The Left 4 Dead computer game is alot like Dawn of the Dead and you have to use good teamwork with 3 other people to survive. I also love Sci-fi movies. I love Star Wars. And watching good a comedy can make you feel good. I like some horror movies aswell if they are good.

I dont care about the genre - a great movie is very personal.

My top 5 ever would include - Pulp Fiction, Reservior Dogs, Fight Club, Snatch and Turk 182\. These are the ones that I watch the most.

By the way…. saw an extremely scarey movie called Paranormal Activity last night..........it is full on and very freaky - I loved it.

Heard that Steven Speilberg watched an advanced screening last year at his home studio and after it was finished it was found that he had baracaded himself inside the home theatre....it really does get to you...

Coming up with a top 5 is difficult, but in no particular order:

1\. Saving Private Ryan - The sheer realism and impact of this film is amazing. Great cast and direction too.
2\. The Hangover - Funniest film I have ever seen.
3\. Heat - Another incredibly well directed and well acted film with a solid story and great characters. Has the best shootout scene I've ever seen in a flick.
4\. Terminator 2 - I love the visuals, effects and action pieces in this film.
5\. Big Trouble In Little China - Kurt Russell at his best, and a classic John Carpenter film. Has some of the corniest lines and quotes I've heard but it's always fun to watch.

Top 5 is too hard, Fight Club, Pulp Fiction and the Lord of the Rings movies for mine…. too many others that could get into the top 5 as well. Saving Private Ryan, T2, Matrix, Crouching Tiger, Game of Death, Life of Brian, Holy Grail, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Escape from New York (although Big Trouble is brilliant, good call Willow), Star Trek Wrath of Khan, Empire Strikes Back (before Lucas ruined the franchise), Unforgiven, Good Bad The Ugly..... umm lots

I saw Paranormal Activity and The Invention Of Lying last weekend. They are both pretty good movies.

I might go see Zombie Land this weekend for some laughs. Does anyone know if the Time Travellers Wife is any good???

Also the movie Avatar will also be in 3D in the V-Max at Event Cinemas. Good thing there is Event Cinemas at Macarthur Square.. \(^.^)/ I have been waiting a while for Avatar!!!

I thought Zombieland was good. Funny at parts though I doubt a Michael Cera type person would survive a zombie apocalypse.

Paranormal Activity did nothing for me but it is a movie that polarises people.

I too can't wait for Avatar. Looks like a great cinema experience.

Michael Cera? Is that the actor whose character made up all those rules for surviving in a world full of zombies? Some of those rules actually make sense. I can't wait for Avatar too. I'm watching Flatliners on dvd at the moment. Not a bad movie.

Avatar is one I really want to see. I saw New Moon the other week and I must say I am Team Jacob hehe

The bloke with the rules was the one I was referring too. They make sense I just really doubt a personality like him would survive an apocalypse.

I reckon he'd survive longer than most. It's normally the guys who act all tough who take the big risks and they wouldn't last long.

AVATAR…....

Saw it tonight and I am highly impressed.
The CGI is absolutely crazy the story, although done a few times now, is handled really really well. Powerful message is delivered as well and the end is every action fans wet dream.

Thought that this would be a little childish but it really was that good. There is a lot more to it then what the teasers and trailers have shown.

It would have to be a minimum of 9/10

Can't wait to see it even more now, I have heard great reviews about it.

Another movie I saw recently was Year One, I enjoyed it, plenty of laughs.

Avatar is an excellent movie. I might go see it again. I saw it in 3D on the V-Max screen (very large screen)
