no sand buckets nor kicking tees in those days - they had to dig and gather enough dirt to put the ball on= it took some time for the poor bugger to create a mound
Greetings @Halbrowne61 Gee it's great to have another 'old fart like me on here' 🙂Greetings all, at 70 years age, and after 60, yes 60, years as a loyal Tigers supporter I felt inclined to join the chorus.
Like everyone on here, I was gutted by Sundays result, especially after the boys showed real fight to claw back into the game after Holmes fg. The result of course was wrong and distressing.
However, I thought Ben Gardiner summed it best when he said that we could waste a lot of energy and emotion on what happened, or address the key issue- can we back it up in the coming weeks!
Anyone can see, by our recent results, we are improving but whatever happens in the coming days, I hope that we use it to build further on what we are doing.
Oldies like me like to say onward and upward.
Let’s do it again v Broncos.

I so agree Magpies man.Greetings @Halbrowne61 Gee it's great to have another 'old fart like me on here' 🙂
You're old but I'm older I'm 75 🤣
But you have got me for the years you have been following your team as I only started following the Magpies in 1963.
Gee I hope there is some way We can keep Ben Gardiner as I feel he is a special talent.
Yes Hb61.....onward and upward that's the spirit 👍
All valid points my friend.A few points of note:
Cows completions 50% in H1 and over 30 missed tackles. We fail to convert chances too often.
Tigers take a strange 2 points and then completely roll over for the next 15 mins (standard)
Tigers show uncharacteristic resilience after a dud sin binning.
We finally click when playing catch up football, something we have sucked at all year.
With 1 second remaining we fail to close out a game. Not of our own doing I know but that’s just the WT we all know.
I don’t think that game showed us much other than we are still WT.
Thanks KrammyWelcome aboard Hal.
Yep, it was like kicking a brick on a wet day. KB used to wear Featherweight boots with a square toe, but it worked.Leather balls too, and went over even in the wet!
Yes, Gardner seems like a good man, did well in the NSW cup. Hopefully he doesn’t get eased out.I so agree Magpies man.
Thanks for the welcome MagpieGreetings @Halbrowne61 Gee it's great to have another 'old fart like me on here' 🙂

If he did get shunted might make a good 2IC for Ivan( if Ciraldo goes). Wouldn’t that sting.
Hush my mouth !
Len Killeen was no slouch either. Kicked a (legal) goal from the side line on the other side of the half way to win the game. The ball landed half way up the back hill on the fullI would say Barnes was the best of the old goal kickers i ever saw and El Masri the best of the new soccer style goal kickers
Was Len left footed?Len Killeen was no slouch either. Kicked a (legal) goal from the side line on the other side of the half way to win the game. The ball landed half way up the back hill on the full
Consistency is our problem, always has been. Across a half, a game and a season. All valid points my friend.
Yes he was, a South African who grew up playing union. Was Len left footed?
