Moving on to the finals...

While I am sad to see Teddy, Woods and Moses leave us, my mind is starting to look ahead to a single question… 'How can we build a team to make the finals?' We can rant and rage all we want about losing our best and brightest, but we support a TEAM and we still have a team [remember when Rabbitohs supporters lost their entire team!]. What kind of players do we need to recruit to get back to playing finals football? In the past we have always been the entertaining team [e.g Benji flick pass in the GF] do we need to give up our love of the razzle dazzle for defensive dominance? I would love to hear everyone's thoughts. Here are a couple of mine to get the ball rolling.

1\. Players that want to be here
2\. Players that leave everything on the field
3\. Players excel at defence
4\. Players that are not overpaid
5\. Players that outperform their pay packet _6\. Players on shorter contracts
7\. Players that are not injured, or don't have a long history of injury
8\. A couple of players that have origin experience [not just origin potential]
9\. At least one solid english forward
10\. A winger that is faster than JAC_

The razzle dazzle seems to have evaporated some time ago.

Defensively sound players that excel in times of adversity… Players that thrive in the tough stuff

First thing we do is get over the fact Moses , Woods , Teddy are gone and at 4 pm today or when ever the deadline is we start Fresh
Players Cleary will chase will be solid players who play for 80 minutes even if you are loosing the game , never give up type
We have a bucket of cash now and I think we will see over the next 3 to 4 weeks a slow list of new faces sign on .
Who will it be , I have no idea only Ivan will know the list of players he wants , but he will have a list ready to go , he looked like a man who knew these players were leaving and just wants it done so he can get underway with his purchasing ,
Do we have players signed and in the cooling of stage im not sure as it would have been risky until we new who was going who was staying , there could be a few cheaper players but nobody on huge money ,that will come from now on .
Chin up we are in a good spot now to really get on with making the Wests Tigers Strong agian

After 4pm today it is a whole new ball game.
Cleary had the gumption to draw the line in the sand. We stand behind him and the team of players he assembles.
Yes we won't win many, but so what. Newcastle are a great example of supporters. They show up for their team win or lose.
As for Moses,Teddy and woods.
I think they should be benched. No more support from our club rest of the year. They can't be trusted to put 100% in each game as they know their futures lie elsewhere.
Woods no longer captain he don't want to be here get rid of him. Lawrence and Taylor co captains.

Hope Cleary has the stamina to cope if the going gets really tough, because he clearly didn't and couldn't at Penrith.

What do you base this statement on? I thought he was removed by Gus after a poor season wrecked with a horror injury run. I didn't see that he 'turned his toes up'. Gould decided to go in a different direction for some reason. Not sure how well that is turning out for him, to be honest.
