Must win game v Broncos??

I dont think they will get picked. i think they will stick with ennis the myth and although i think rhino deserves to be picked i think he will miss out.

With or without Lockyer, Folau and Thaiday, I would still put this down as a difficult game.

Their team is still quality whichever way you look at it. Wallace IMO should still be the halfback for the NSW, while guys like Teo and Parker have very high work rates. They've also got a good mix of talent, their debutants have played well above expectations this year.

Expect no easy game, especially up at Lang Park where it has always been a hostile environment for travelling teams.

Matty Tiepie, I agree with your sentiments 100% ! As much as I don't want to speculate on our finals outcome at this point, we have to start beating some of the better teams now, as we have some tough opponents ahead of us, so we need to start and get momentum going into these important matches. I believe it starts with the Broncos on Friday night.

I agree with Ron.

For the past 5 years, we have the attitude that we should not panic and that these games mid season (that we are not expected to win) will not define us at the business end of the season - well, Wests Tigers are renowned for coming within so close only to miss out on the 8 by one game that we were expected to win and it all comes back to the games we should have won back in the mid half of the season. As far as I'm concerned, every game is a must win when we are sitting near the top of the table - from now on, we MUST WIN as many games as possible to secure a finals spot. It's simple really.

We are a confidence side, so if we lose too many i a row, we find it hard to pick up again.

So coming off the Dragons game this is a must win so that we can bounce back and not let our heads drop.

I agree, thinking it will be easy game, will end up with similar result as the rabbitohs game.

I would consider every game to be a must win game.

So what happens if you happen to lose a "must win" game? Putting too much pressure on individual games is dangerous, in my opinion.

Well the boys should set out to treat every game like its a must win from the outset. We've strung together a few wins and we are sitting in third spot which is unprecedented for us at this time of the season. That is a dangerous situation as it means the guys could become complacent and in losing this weekend we run the risk of another slump and could well find ourselves needing another late season blitz just to secure a finals berth.

If we are to consider ourselves contenders, we shouldn't be losing consecutive games and for every loss we should be putting together at least two to three wins. You say too much emphasis is put upon individual games and causes unnecessary pressure, I say the complacency we showed last year when we lost four straight games by two points or less showed that we didn't put enough emphasis on the individual games which resulted in us placing unnecessary pressure on the back end of our season when we needed 8 wins from our last 9 games to make the eight which cost us our season.

Sure there are acceptable losses but I believe the "there's always next week" attitude is exactly why the NRL finals is filled with average teams with only two or three stand-out sides being a surety to take out the premiership whilst the other five teams make up the also rans. The fact that a team only needs a 50% success rate to guarantee a finals berth would also prove that currently the finals series is a joke that rewards mediocrity.

That's why I believe every game is treated as a must win.

lol i get slammed for saying the dragons game was a must win then you produce this? well like 98% of the people in my thread said…if the dragons game wasnt a must win why is this one? infact most deluded people on here will say that no game is a must win unless its for us to make a finals spot.

bottom line is you take these must win games out of the equasion by winning games like last week......

yes its a must win realistically we are in 7th spot now so yes its a must win just like the dragons game was

LOL…I merely asked the question Ron....

Dragons really wasnt a must wion, this one is when you consider how both teams are travelling compared to us and whos in and not in the oppositions.
You also ask to get slammed....your posts a laced with bait so cut the victim crap you drama queen

I have been very impressed with the younger guys the Broncos have brought though ..they definatly have the winning culture and are good players .The Tigers will be tested even without there stars make no bones about it as we have seen in the past the Tigers seem incapable of putting sides away .This game must be a winner for us or the bad old days could return as pressure will be mounting.

We need to win 5 out of our last 10 to make the semis. Doesn't really matter which 5 it is though. If we win this one we then need 4 out of our last 9.

I think all games are tough these days. Cronulla and Cowboys are no walk in the park. Really looking forward to the match on Friday night ….... I think we can win it - be disappointed if we don't.

I don't know about a must win. A must win to make the 4, but not the 8\. For me it's more of a defining game for us. If we can get a victory, up in QLD we will gain some real momentum imo and with the Titans looking shaky… we might be able to really secure 3rd position and press the loser of the dragons and panthers game in second...

I think the next three are must win if we are going to do anything this year, Broncos minus origin players, titans at campbelltown without mead and tagataese and prince having played one game in a month and shocking cowboys side at leichhardt. Honestly if we can't win the next three we will probably manage to scrap into the 8 and just make up the numbers

I agree with Innk…..it's a must win.......

Sheens said....'Good teams don't loose two in a row"

Also.....I hate the Broncos....whole state to chose from....The players treated like Gods and protected by the business community both at pubs, restaurants and public toilets......King Lockyer...pffft...

Shame hes not playing....

This is a must win game imo looking at the ladder if we lose its possible we could drop out of the 8\. Hope someone knocks Teos head off.

There all good boys Geo…. Have no idea what you are talking about with them being protected

It's vital that we win this one for confidence alone, if we lose we drop pack down the ladder and have a hard run home.

Even if it isn't a "must win" it is important that the Tigers beat the Broncos.
Being third in the comp right now is somewhat illusory given that not all teams have picked up their points from two byes.
If you ignore the byes that teams have had and will get, then the Tigers are 7th [!!!] taking points difference into account.

This point has been made time and time again by so many here… it doesn't make sense. It also means we would have played 2 games less than everyone... to still be 7th if that's the case... then that's great!

which is why we need to keep winning…if we drop 2-3 in a row we will be out of the 8 with no byes up our sleeve

I think it makes sense because the Titans have won 9 games and of the four teams that have won 8 games the Tigers have the lowest points difference. That drubbing by Souths is still hurting . . . .
