My worry

I got a bad feeling about this game.
3 teams in the off season have been really talked up and had so much written about the successful season they are going to have. Parra, souths and us. The first two played pretty ordinary, not meeting the expectation at all. I reckon going into round one you would love to be flying under the radar with no expectations on you, Hasler will be loving the lead up to this one.

I hope the boys arnt taking it as a given.

It's going to be a tough game, don't worry about that. My worry is Brett Stewart and Whatmough. As the media articles have stated, these two love playing the Tigers and have a very handy strike rate against us in crossing the try line. The Tigers really need to aim up defensively tonight. The Tigers needn't worry too much about their attack IMO, with Farah, Marshall, Lui, Moltzen and Fulton, we've got attacking playmakers all across the park, and I think the Tigers are a quicker side than Manly too. The Tigers must shut down Manly's forward pack. Guys like Stewart and Whatmough are 80 minute players and will threaten all night so the Tigers have to get numbers in on them because they can both break tackles and offload in traffic, and if these two have quiet games then I reckon the Tigers will win.

My biggest worry is ball handling. Normally we really struggle in this department early in the season. We get this right, and we will go a long way to winning this one.
Shows already this week that the teams that complete the most sets have got out on top so far….no surprise.

not worried at all…Mighty Wests Tigers will smash the Silvertail scum....

Foooty's back.....Yeeeeaaaaaahhh.... :wahoo:

Season finally starts today…. I am not as confident today. We will either win by or loose by 12+

Hopefully the former

The biggest danger for the Wests Tigers…............The Wests Tigers.
We are in control of our own destiny, if we get the basics right and swarm the manly forwards and most importantly.....wrap up that steeden then we will come up trumps!

Round one anything can happen, but on a positive note we usually come out of the blocks in round one on a high.

A lot of people are saying keep it very simple like the dragons did on friday night and keep the turn overs to a minimum. Iam not so sure, Manly usually score plenty of points and to keep Stewart and Watmough at bay for eighty minutes is near impossible so we have to go out and out attack them.

Anyway like others have said we have been on the back page now for what seems weeks, plenty of hype etc where Manly have hardly got a headline, now that is a worry. This year every week is going to be tough, my gut feeling on tonight one team will win by a fair margin and not sure which team–lets hope its the tigers

have someone like Liam shut Watmough down all game.
soon as he gets ball wrap him up, play up and in his face.
try limit limit amount of running space Bret Stewart has.
make most of points opportunities, if get a penalty then take the shot.
and of course kick a field goal just before half time if possible. every point helps
tarnish those tails.

My biggest worry is injuries. For some reason I can just picture Benji going down with an injury. We've seen quite a few injuries already, getting me nervous.

Other then that, Manly who?

Up the tigers!

My Worry…....leaving work early enough so I can race home ,drop the car at Cabarita, catch the bus and train to Central, taxi to Moore Park in friggin' time to see the Wests Tigers NYC team run on...

Oh wow, look it's 9.20am already......better start getting ready to leave work

My feeling is that Parra and the Bunnies losing is a godsend as it takes the hype pressure off. It's the first game that really is nothing in the huge scale of the season and I would love us to treat this the same way we treated the Doggies game last year, nothing to really lose. Play our game and just get back into the flow of the season.

I am not confident at all, and I never liked the press we were getting.

In saying that I don't think our players should let it get to them. Regardless this is a very tough game, Manly are a good side.

If round 1 so far has taught us anything it's that the early rounds are all about ball control. You hold onto the ball, you win the early matches

I'm not reading too much into tonight, given it's round one. If we win, great! If we lose, then hopefully it's to a side that plays better and deserved the win. It's a long season ahead, plenty will happen, hopefully we start off on the right foot.
