Name for sale: Could Campbelltown Stadium be re-named?

The council said years ago they would never sell the naming rights to the stadium.
Although with recent articles in the local papers about money not been received from the state government Campbelltown Council may need to sell the naming rights to inject a bit of cash into the council.

It will always be Campbelltown Stadium.. or even Orana Park for mine..

If memory serves me correctly it was called Duguild oval before Orana Park.

Wasnt that the number 2 ground where the athletics field now is where the Leumeah Wolves played?

The Western Stand at Campbelltown Stadium was (and maybe still is) called the Alf Duguid Stand.

JRD you've got me there my memory isn't that good, happy to take your word for it, again I'm not sure about the stand name Alien but it makes sense so that the name isn't lost after renaming the oval.

Campbelltown Stadium, home of the Wests Tigers rugby league team, was originally called Orana Park after an aboriginal word for "welcome".

JRD you've got me there my memory isn't that good, happy to take your word for it, again I'm not sure about the stand name Alien but it makes sense so that the name isn't lost after renaming the oval.

The Stand used to be called the Alf Dugid Stand, but when the stand was redeveloped they didn't put the sign back up. I noticed this last year.
I'm not sure if the council has moved on from the name or it was just never put back up.

I'm torn, being a resident of Campbelltown I like the name of the city in the stadium name, it lets everyone know where they are playing. But the almighty dollar cannot be ignored, especially if the revenue will be put to good use by the council.
