After painting himself as ‘The Good Guy’ last week in regards to Nathan re-uniting with Ivan Gus will now show his hand by enticing Ivan to coach the Panthers - the scene is set- so Nathan doesn’t need to move anywhere. Shows how dumb we are by not extending Ivan’s contract early.

Ivan is still signed for season 19 and 20 with us, that must count for something

Gould didn’t come down in the last shower …
He’s a sneaky [automatically edited] !

My only concern in all of this was Ivan's last interview

He mentioned he didn't want to be involved in nepotism and pick Nathan while his position wasn't guaranteed

Maybe the Cleary "sacking" was all a ruse from Penrith and they bring him back once Nathan was /is established

I highly doubt it ….....but you never know

Ivan seems a class act , sort of the bloke whose "word is his bond "

But family is family

Still think Barrett would be the best bet , but who knows .....Bennett now has no family ties ......

Gould always gets what he wants .
$ is king !

Gus loves Barrett , heard him a few times absolutely rave about him

Not signing NC would force us to get our forward pack right , I'm not against that

Maybe Gus is throwing the kitchen sink at Nathan and letting him pick a coach.

Wouldn't be surprised if Gus try's to get Ivan back somehow.

Agree
I’d rather have Kikau , Yeo and throw in Waqa Blake than Nathan .

There is no way in the world Gould is going to admit wrong by getting rid of Cleary in the first place and now come grovelling back to get him. Not a chance in the world**_. I’d bet my house_** that panthers would be the last place Ivan Cleary coaches while Phil Gould is still around.

Where do you live?
I have a 3 bedder in the Parra area…..

Hey mate, good to see you made it out of your meltdown. Hope we win again this week so we don’t get meltdown round 2 lol

I got a 4 bedder in Yagoona. You a betting man?

Ivan cleary comes out last week tells the media he is happy and Love's being at the West's tiger's the day before its reported Nathan cleary is a done deal to the tigers for 2020 possibly even for 2019\. I personally think Nathan would of filled his dad In on what was going on at Penrith in regards to Anthony griffin so if Ivan really had plans to go back to Penrith then he would of been able to get some sought of plan going with Gus months ago. Ciraldo is Gus's last act to try keep Nathan at the club he knows ciraldo is close with Nathan and will use ciraldo up if he can't get Nathan to sign then Gus will let him have his 2 months of fame as head coach then sack him aswel. Ivan knows what sought of person Gus is and I doubt Ivan will be sucked in twice. Penrith are a unstable club with no coach and a dictator for a general manager. Hope they enjoy being in the headlines for the next 4months.

He lives next door to Ivan !

I’ll bet Ivan’s house and mine lol

Remember that Simpsons episode when Monty has a new employee every week? One week it's Frank Grimes and next week he's on the out because he saw a dog on the news? Gus is Monty. Frank Grimes is Griffin. Ciraldo is the dog…

Relax, it won't happen.

People said the same thing about Robbie Farah and they end up looking silly.

Situation not even remotely close. I'll put it this way would any self respecting man go back to his ex-wife after an acrimonious breakup. Think about it.

Id say thats happened many times…think about it

Penrith have a better roster and his son there . Above everything coaches want to win. And they go on about the unique opportunity of working together as player and coach .I wouldn’t rule it out until Ivan puts it to bed himself.

Come on isn't anyone remotely amused at the prospect of Nathan joining the WTs under Gus' watch? I mean every Board member at the Panthers will be reaching for a change of underpants/knickers at this scenario playing out. The young man played an almost faultless game against the Raiders when Maloney was like a turn style when he wasn't throwing intercept passes. Gus must be furious this is happening under his watch.

He's been shafted by the Panthers once (Gould in particular). Gould has just demonstrated that he's still quite prepared to shaft a coach under contract. Why would anyone voluntarily put themselves in a position where they could be sacked by the same flog twice in their career?
