New fixture for 2021 trial match schedule

Wests a class above Balmain in Harold Matts trial this morning.

Were some clear standouts in the Balmain side, despite being an overall weaker side. Looking forward to when the season starts so I can put some names to numbers/faces.

Isn’t it normally the other way around? How good is Nofa supporting the younger fellas. Thanks for the updates

Wests leading 3 tries to 2 in SG Ball when I left. Each team played with a big squad of about 30, with teams changing almost their full side at halftime.

Tannous played hooker with Balmain’s first side who looked to have weaker forwards than their second team that came on, so he didn’t get the linebreaks, but was extremely classy and seemed to have a really smart football brain.

Great to see Nofo talking with both Balmain and Wests’ younger boys especially those he would’ve trained with briefly in the preseason.

Paul Sironen and interestingly Ben Galea (thought he was still a video ref) helping out Balmain’s side and Shannon Gallant with the Wests side. All three wearing Wests Tigers shirts. 👍🏼

Wests wore that black jersey in the Harold Matts game and a majority white one in the SG Ball game.

Balmain wore a different one from the NRL Orange jersey for both games. Both looked like traditional Balmain jerseys.

Like the idea of wearing the NRL jerseys once the season proper starts though.

It gives continuity throughout the club, the only exception is the NSW Cup Magpies team
