New recruitment required

It has started already but today showed that the player group we have at the moment is just not Premiership material and there needs to be a new recruitment drive to freshen up the Squad we all have favourite players but we are well of the pace in the race for the title.

i agree we need a good clean out, a good fullback even though mckinnon played well but hes going. a couple of hard running forwards.and a 1/2 back who will take the line on, moltzen was terrible.

We have the best Left centre, five eigth and hooker (well should be) in the game, as well as the best defensive backrower in Ellis. Unfortunately the guys around it are a little overated.

We severely need a KICKING game. Like thats a priority. Honestly I could not stress this any less. Someone like luke walsh (yes luke walsh), would be an absolute champion signing for us. do I think hes a great half, not really, but he can organise a side and on the last tackle he can kick the ball in the right areas. Thats all we need from our half.

Unfortunately tactics ont help. Constantly running into the ruck limits metres and then we run when we should kick and we kick when we should run…

For starters we need a dominating half(haven't had one since 2006) need better back up centres and need sheen's to gamble on faster wingers in the lower grades.Need a proper fullback that hardly gets injured.Need props that aren't scared to aim up pretty much sums it up

No our hooker is a dud. I think we may be stuffed because at the moment we are probably paying him well over what he is worth. Robbie is problem no 1.

After that we need to get a fullback and a half and ensure we continue to get good go forward.

noted Ryan Cross was in the box at leichhardt the game against Newcastle, Didnt think too much in it then realised that he is off contract with Waratahs this year, I know his dad played for the Tigers. Could this be our back maybe our new fullback. Maybe Im clutching at straws her but seems interesting to me, anyone heard anything on this score?

Is the back 5 that the Tigers will have in 2013, and it will destroy teams.

If they all develop it will be a great backline. For mine maybe Curtis Sironen at centre instead of Noafaluma (Sironen needs to be in the side somewhere and centre would be a good position for him to start his NRL career).

If you look at our 20's for the last few years our recruitment of young players is better than most sides.

We have also brought in Lote and Gareth (both very good buys). Blair will be a great buy, watched him closely yesterday, he is strong in defence and in attack he takes good options ( a catch pass of his yesterday was sublime and the knocking of the ball from Fifita was very important). Our recruitment is pretty good, our retention is woeful.

For mine our problem has been paying overs for a lot of average first graders in our squad. We are losing Fifita because we are paying overs for a lot of our top 25 man squad..

Also we have been slow to develop some of our better junior talent.

New Recruitment Strategy is probably a better option…. How we spent over the Salary Cap is the first issue. Its obvious a few in Tiger colours are getting overs based on their performances week in, week out if we are over?!

Lets look at Ellis, Lote, Benji & Farah. Surely thats got to be at best 1/3 of our Salary Cap once you factor in exemptions etc. Then we hear rumours of $500k signings for a Backrower, a Bench Prop earing $220k, and the list goes on....

Paying overs for Loyalty, and then back-ending the deals is a false economy... It has to catch you out somewhere???

Add 300 k for a player who is doing nothing at half ,centre and fullback . Reckon if someone had shown 1 iota of interest in him he'd be gone as well or maybe we keep Fifita ???.
Fullback is our problem area for 2012 …. And we won't make the 8 unless we find a suitable candidate next season

The only fullback available is Wes Naiqama and I reckon he`d be a real good pick up as he also plays well in the centres or on the wing. Throw he into the mix along with the emerging Jake Mullany and James Tedesco and I reckon we`d be much more ptent from the back than we have been this season.

For a winger I reckon John Grant could be well worth a gamble. For those who don`t know him he`s the union player who easily won the 100m sprint race late last year, i`m pretty sure he was the top try scorer in NSW club rugby this season and I don`t think he`s got an official contract for any of the super franchises just yet.

Issue with Ayshford ???

No issue with Ayshford, for mine in 2013 he will be our lock.

Oh absolutely Ayshford is in the team. I just want a lighting back 5.

Sunshine, who did we lose that you would like back? (Other than Gibbs and Fifita)
