**Knights membership drive: Strength in Numbers**

The Coal & Allied Newcastle Knights have today announced an ambitious new Membership initiative aimed at gaining 10,000 new Members.

The “Strength in Numbers Membership Campaign” will launch on television tonight, and in radio and press tomorrow, featuring Knights Captain Kurt Gidley, along with Knights Legends Steve Crowe, Robbie O'Davis, Marc Glanville and Leigh Maughan.

“Membership is the best way to support the Newcastle Knights. It's a measure of a Club's strength and stability off the field,” said Troy Palmer, Acting CEO of the Newcastle Knights.

“The Knights' current Membership represents only 0.74% of the population of the Hunter; that's not a significant number for a rugby league stronghold. We have removed the price barrier and are making it far more affordable for our community to make the Membership commitment,” said Mr Palmer.

“For a family of two adults and two children to sit in a reserved seat for the remainder of the season for as little as $5.00 per person per home game represents amazing value.”

“Our aim is to have 10,000 new Community Members by the New Zealand Warriors game on Sunday May 15,” he said.

The new 10 game Memberships are flexible; from singles, to concessions, and flexible family packages with up to four children.

“Membership is the best way for fans to support us. Hunter rugby league fans now have the opportunity to help us play in front of a capacity Ausgrid Stadium at all of our home games. The team is excited about this initiative and hope as many people as possible become Knights Members,” said Jarrod Mullen at today's launch.

The Doggies have a $100 General Admin membership. Wests Tigers cheapest $220 general admin to all 12 games.

Might take 'em up on the offer…
Next year though if it's still running.
Way too busy this year to get to all the games.

Yep, ours are WAY too expensive.

$180 at Parramatta gets you a sseason ticket in the third row from the front, smack bang on the 40 metre line.

For a similar seat with us, you are paying $330.

right, so we'll just get all our players to take a 50% pay cut so that we can afford to reduce the season ticket prices.
just thank your lucky stars you are not a football fan in the USA or UK. $20,000 in the US for a season ticket on the half way line for a top NFL team. Similarly outrageous prices in the UK - membership starts at about 100 pounds per game for the cheap seats.
For $360 I get to see the greatest players in the greatest sporting team battle it out in the greatest sporting competition in the world - I consider my $360 a year membership damn good value.

Never have I read a more irrational argument put forth on here
Sort of like me shopping in St Vinnies and thanking my lucky stars Im not shopping at Yves St Laurent

We dont need the players to take a pay cut, we have a Mr Moneybags too just like the Knights

Puts the Wests Tigers Administration to shame.

BUT, WT charge through the roof because they want to be self sufficient financially as the owners don't put in much money.

But in saying that we are the most expensive in the NRL and I can't understand why.

Are we the most expensive bug?

You would think with 3 home ground and all the extra travelling you have to do to get there we maybe should be one of the cheapest but for the same reason it could be why where the most expensive if we are that is.

The point is that NRL memberships are cheap.
I just can't believe that anyone thinks membership for the Tigers is not value for money at its current price.
Clubs struggle with their finances, membership is one way to support your club. cutting the price of membership in half will effect the amount of money the club has. You can't just turn around and expect a sponsor to cough up extra million or two because members reckon a season ticket is only worth $9.50 a game. When he refuses, what do you do to make up the $1M-2M hole in your budget?

Wrong. Whilst the venue is a pain for traveling, at least you get a seat. What do you get at Leichhardt? Forced to stand on a hill with no seating, poor amenities, bugger all parking and you have to look into the sun for an afternoon match. But hey, it has "soul" so that discounts everything and we charge through the nose.
